So I am getting even more hoses and was able to get the fuel heater out and check the resistance 6.5ohms and nothing to ground. Haven't got the Glow plug out for testing yet.
I tested the glow plug at 4.8 Ohms so I think with a starter motor and the new fuel lines and a new wiring it will start. As long as the Injector is operational!

Back in the late 70's, I had a complete Marc genset like yours. I was able to start it just fine with the starter, but really wanted to try and handcrank it.

I had my wife standing by at the compression release lever, as I got it spinning pretty fast with a lot of effort.

She flipped the lever, causing it to immediately stop turning and I promptly peed my pants...:oops:

I just stopped at the starter motor guy place and he said he's never seen an engine like this and I'm like really I'm not surprised
Anyways he said that because of the distance of the throw of the drive wheel he's going to have to look in the back and see if he's got anything with a really long snout on it and perhaps we can get something like that and make it work

So the rebuilder has never seen this type of generator/diesel motor but recognized the snoot length of the start it needs is much longer than most of what is available but said he may have something in the warehouse but cant get to it until next week so I left my number.
My Verizon has been down most of the afternoon so I cant upload Pics but I took the front shroud off the machine and removed the injection pump and the opened the cover of the governor. A lot of cleaning is in order and I will have to open the hand hole behind the starter location. Clean the sump and take some pics. Then figure a way to make a new starter mount to use this short nosed starter. But the drive gear is a match for this ring gear!! As rough as it looks the rusted starter spins by hand.. Hopefully some one can rebuild this pump as its throttle shaft does not move much like not at all. Pics when my hand computer is back online.

You might want to find someone else with one of these generators and get the model number for the proper starter. You might be able to find the correct starter for the generator.

I agree That's why I'm posting here Cross posting in a couple of other forums hopefully somebody will come up with something In the meantime we got to do what we got to do I am not going to hand crank this thing It needs a starter motor so I'll do whatever I have to do to make it happen. Thanks Chris

Exactly! We've all done it. Hard to explain why, its just to prove to ourselves we can!
Just recently my son and I bought 2 dump trucks. 1 to use and the other for parts, but the parts truck had a run away 6-71 detroit so I had to get it running, just because it's a 2 stroke detroit!
Had it going within a day or 2 but after just 10 minutes of running she dropped a valve and destroyed everything in cyl.#1. Head, valves seats, injector, piston.
Mind you, all I wanted out of this truck was the hood, windshield and some misc. parts.
I had to fix the engine ( myself, without spending a dime at the machine shop ) simply because it was my fault it dropped the valve. Originally after fixing the stuck injectors and rack I reassembled with 1 rocker arm crooked and hitting a valve spring, causing the keepers to come out and drop the a
Spent close to $1000 on parts and several weeks of time to fix a parts truck I paid $400 for!
Doesn't make sense to most, but its perfectly rational to "US"

Does anyone know if this shaft on this pump should be able to be moved by hand
It's kind of a moot point because the seller took my offer for a new pump so I'll be finding out soon enough but still I imagine it should move fairly freely otherwise you're putting a huge load on the governor through the linkage
