Well hope ya'll are doing great. Continuing to chase vibrations, just swapped my two rear tires for new ones (after breaking a wheel stud with torque multiplier because lefty tighty drivers side forgotten despite all the youtubes). Drivers rear leaking slowly though...we will reopen it next...

    Salvaging Electrical in M1079 Box

Are you still keeping an inverter for shore power just in case you have the opportunity to use it? When one source fails, and you bridge, does that involve reconnecting wires or do you have a switch schematic in place? Like if truck battery dies, and you want to use house battery or solar to...

    Salvaging Electrical in M1079 Box

Techno I will be studying this chapter you gave us while I am working this week. I have never heard anyone break through the electrical problem with that much genius. Thank you from me, and should be thank you from all of us.

    Salvaging Electrical in M1079 Box

Because of you, I will look at my 24v options. Would 48v have any advantages on efficiency and making 30Kwh last longer? One I can think of is the new large 48v, 16Kwh batteries are just a sweet deal. Add in a 24v to 48v Converter between the vehicle and the DC --> DC charger. Same Kwh target...

I did try that with my 20-ton bottle jack, was just raising the truck from the stabilizer bar. Had me worried about bending something that aint meant to bend.

    Rear stabilizer bar bushings

@GeneralDisorder Ya I am familiar with bursting C-Clamps, and i could feel the 2 i had on there about to pop. Thick ones too... I made a tool with angle-iron, wasnt goin. Might try some leaf spring i have next, just my little drill press is strugglin. Maybe oriellys has a rent-a-tool that...

    Rear stabilizer bar bushings

Any tips on getting the lower resilient mount brack to squeeze the mount enough for the holes to line up? I cannot get the 2 bottom bolts through, my bushing seems like a couple m.m. too large, even with my homemade jig of two pieces of steel with bolts to squeeze everything. Also do ya'll...

LMTV Rear Stabilizer Mounts... do they need lubrication?

Lock-n-Lube looks like the way to go. I see the front axle shaft u-joints you are talking about. The Kingpin is greased through the "steering knuckle" zerks referenced in TM? The lube order in the TM seems to cover a lot, anything it doesnt mention that ya'll look out for?

LMTV Rear Stabilizer Mounts... do they need lubrication?

I figured. Previous owner told me tires had a flat spot. Front tires are date coded 2021, look good here. My rear tires are date coded 2012. And they look tore up. 2 x 2021 95% treads are on the way. Wont be driving before install. Glad to hear about the grease. How do you feel about the...

LMTV Rear Stabilizer Mounts... do they need lubrication?

Howdy Ya'll, Getting ready to put in new rear stabilizer mount bushings, uppers and lowers. Should I apply any grease to these on install? Searching TM, they are not in the lubrication Order, and the only mention I could find about the mounts was under "Replacing rear stabilizer bar" but...

    Salvaging Electrical in M1079 Box

@TechnoWeenie 1. I will start chopping into the fluorescent light wiring to see if it is braided or solid copper. I know the trending van-life builds say only use braided, but I have yet to hear of an LMTV in the Army catching fire from the van-body electrical wiring (still new here). 2. So...

    New member in TX

@type3LMTV I am ~90% sure I saw the advertisement for your LMTV before you bought it Lol. About 2.5 hours away from Benbrook, TX. That is definitely a cool idea with me. After I get back into highway speeds. I too rode all the way home without cab air bags inflated from previous owner, then...
