Is there a cargo cover on the truck? I am asking because I don't think you need an RGN for an FMTV. I have had both an M1085a1 AND M1078 hauled on step decks previously (to MD from KS and IN), but neither of my trucks had cargo covers on them. RGNs are going to cost you more money than a step...
Does anyone know where I can find a spindle nut socket/wrench for an MTVR? It takes a special socket/wrench to tighten the spindle nut appropriately. Please let me know if you know where I can find one. Thanks.
The troop seats are the same on the 2-1/2 ton and 5 ton drop sides trucks. The only difference (mentioned by G744) between the two would be the stubby racks that make up the front fixed portion of the cargo bed.
The 5 ton cargo trucks without drop sides used different troop seats. There is another member here looking for a set that I last time I spoke with him. Maybe he will chime in.
My M1165A1 is fairly dry inside. The only leaks comes from the seal between the driver's door and the cab (the driver's seat gets wet in a hard rain). I have NOS X doors on my truck. I believe the doors are adjusted properly and the rubber seals are fresh...and the driver's door still leaks...
The only way he can transfer title without first getting it in his name is if he is a motor vehicle dealer and has such a license. He would then have to provide you with the dealer reassignment form in addition to the SF-97. Most people are not licensed dealers, though.
