I have been holding off on getting one but hearing from someone directly that has an MEP803A and MEP1040 with feedback has me sold. I know all about soft starts & VFD's, but having one so small almost seemed like a gimic. I may just order one right now as I had the page bookmarked!

Hell yeah! How is the soft start working for you and the HVAC? Help when running on the generator? Been thinking about getting one for the two houses on the property & then sharing about them on the YouTube channel when it comes to generator use.

I just did. My kit came with a replacement for the duct or whatever you'd like to call it. Then, you cut a slight hole in the plastic vent that is behind the dash. Comes out very clean. Going to be installing another in an A2 here soon.

If I'm not mistaken, the kit is meant for a newer alternator. It may not work with the older 60amp one. My truck had a 240amp and it came off the regulator. Instructions show to hook it to the regulator. My thought was it was using the signal from the regulator & the older 60amp doesn't work...

My truck is missing the special bracket for the TCM box but I do have the proper box still in the truck. Also, I still need the passenger side insert. The sawed mine in two for some reason.

All makes sense. Guess I will see if FKM can be sourced for the correct size & not cost a substantial amount more.

NBR. It is OEM, imported from Germany, and is fresh, not sitting in a warehouse for years. The exact stuff that is on them from the factory & that other CAGE code suppliers supply to the military when they sold rehab kits, and filled NSN orders. Same way I found a manufacture for the fuel tank...

I ended up having a bunch of these fittings made as there really is no substitute & got sick of NOT having the correct part to repair the units I was selling. Took forever, but it is nice to have to correct thing to put right in place.

The major reason why most of the rubber, including the return lines, on these generators break down prematurely is the use of JP8. It's corrosive, sits in there, and breaks the rubber down faster than regular diesel oil. Then, when left in there at it's last shutdown... continues until it turns...

Today, my buddy got it going! He re-traced a few things that I had already done, just to be sure. Along the way, as we were chatting on the phone about things, pulled to dog house cover & noticed a few of the plugs not in all the way going to the engine harness from the body harness. Short...

To anyone who followed along with this thread, I recently just got two, almost new, MEP 1040's. They have less than 20hrs on them & had all the "extras" with them. I plan to get them up & going & then make some videos on how the parallel process works with them. I will make a new thread on it...

I know it was posted in the wrong place, but was kinda hoping so. Always looking for COMMO cables!

There are also many radios that have legacy waveforms as an option for SINCGARS. I had a few RF-7850M and RF-7800V with it installed. Seems to have been mostly abandoned as an option with later firmware though.
