The cab is very tapered but it is easy to add on to the extension by splitting the donor cab and widening it but leaving the original taper up front. Easy is a relative term of course.
Hey there!! Yes that was a big deal to get the cab sorted out if you want to go to YouTube and look for 5ton crew cab build / Thelongway. There is a lot of how to.
Hello everyone. Sorry I’ve been slow posting. I don’t take a lot of pictures. I spent a couple weeks working to cut the bed down three feet. I used the side panels as guides and cut out 1 full section (3ft) off the front of them. I then used the hinges as guides to set the distance for the...
Sorry for the delay everyone. We have had a tornado hit us. Not too bad it’s taken 3 weekends to get back on the rig. I got the back cab cut up and welded in. A got started bending the pieces for the cab add on. Lots of “butt scratching “ and mis bent tubing but I got it figured out now. I...
I got the rear window jamb built and placed last nite. These are not fun to build with the stock bend and the 1 in to 2 in sweep. But got the driver one in and I’ll get the pass done tonight.
Chang of plan. I used a 1x2 to set the door and window gaps. This will let me use the stock strips. Now to find replacement rubber for them. Your project is looking good!!
I am using 1x3 to fill in the window frames. There is a 1/2 inch gap to make room for the window seals. The cab taper was a little tricky but looks good.

Sorry for the delay guys. Got the last of the seats installed, pull handles, and skins complete. I will finish the caps on top of the door jambs this evening. The next step will be cutting and stretching the top. I will also be beefing up the top for a roof rack. Thanks for following.
I’ll probably make some from channel or angle and add the rubber. I’ll start that in a week or two something tells me skinning the sides is going to be tricky!!
