Sounds like it can be done. But not plug and play. Electronic conversion once you got it to fit would be easy with the hot spark stuff.
Langdons stovebolt is a great resource for ths topic. The diagram on the left is what we would need to retrofit. This page explains how to line up the trigger wheel with the rotor/cap post.
The hot spark syatem is the easyiest. You replace the breaker point plate with their plate with the hall effect switch. Then there is a round cylinder with an internal hex that pushes over the hex that opens the points on the distributor shaft. It has 4, 6 or 8 magnets molded into it depending...
3M Scotchcast Electrical Insulating Resin 4N-B (Epoxy-based)
Recomended by google. Stable to 194° F. Rated for 8Kv.
Send me some junk parts to dissect. My bro has a couple of 3d printers and an itch to use them..maybe we could come up with a way to fixture and mold a few new bits to try.
This is the basic wiring diagram. (Off the web, mopar elect dist)
There is still the issue of obsolete cap/rotor to solve. I wonder if there is a castable resin with the right properties and enough dielectric strength to make a job of it.
Ive seen the horde advertising some pretty reasonably...
When i go home ill snap a pic of the big dodge. Nothing high tec..just a piece of aluminum angle drlled for the module mounted with an air gap to the firewall. I used cpu thermal paste between the module and the angle. Ran wires to the coil and distributor..simple pimple.
Edit: Ok my memory is full of rocks. No oe distributor swaps that work that i can find.
I have used this with great success in one of my M37's.

They are spec'd by distributor number so an email to them with some pics ciuld get you in the house. There is still...
I did some digging. It runs bosch piezo injectors. Bosch has a stand alone ecm that is compatible (call for price) as well there are a couple of euopean standalones that will run it and come with some base maps to start tuning from. Option 3 is crack the deere ecm..so its doable.
I think the...
We were lucky with this one. There was just enough room to get the prop off without dropping the rudder. All i had to do was get it out of the way so we could pull the seal liner and seal goup. Then reverse. This was a small one, prop was only 14 tonnes. Last freighter i did had a 38.5 tonne...
Oh and i scored a Deere 4045AFM85..now im having intrusive thoughts. Seems like its right about the right size and output for one of the twins. It came from a marine generator, so not sure how much hassle it'd be to reflash the ecm.
That part of deere scares the crap outa me.$$
Its common rail...
The sea cans are the walls of the new shop. Im trying to get a 40x40 double truss enclosure up but work , life and inclement weather seem to be openly mocking me at this point.
The person (i use the term generously) that designed the enclosure to mount to a sea can has clearly never seen the top...
