i took a rolling chain comealong and hooked to the shackles on the back of the truck and then to the bar and just cranked up on it the upward angle of the shackle was enough to pull it into place then used a drift pin put a bolt in and then did the other side.

Been a couple of years since i did mine but it did not seem that difficult. Are your bushings freezing cold? i did mine in the summer so they were nice and warm so maybe a little more flexible?
