I learned something else in LOTO training. Never borrow Lock OUt or Tag Out devices from anyone. I did once and then I found out the hard way that some other people were using the same keyed locks. When they finished their work, they removed all the keyed locks with their key and then threw...
I'm still not sure why you can't do what I did using a 4-pole 400-amp manual transfer switch located between the meter and house with the load for the house and shop coming off of the transfer switch. I also had a plaque engraved with instructions on how to start the generator and switch the...
I have 400 amp service coming into the house. I have two shops, one is above my attached garage, and the second one is a large one, two story, which we call the barn. Each of my shops has a separate panel which is powered off the main panel in the house via separate breakers, with cable...
The MEP003A generators are fantastic. Mine runs my entire house without selecting circuits and I've virtually never had any problems once my tank was cleaned, filters changed and fluids changed. I did replace a burned-out transistor on the VR board with a replacement from another member here...
Clint, are you aware of how difficult it is to do maintenance on the MEP003A with the ASK kit installed? I was going to install an ASK kit on mine, but several people talked me out of it. Excellent job on the genset. Looks new - probably better than new!
Thanks for showing the photo. Here is a photo of both of my M151A2s, one that is prior TOW Launcher and standard A2 now, sans the ROPS, now for sale, and my 2nd M151A2 which has the fording kit installed and never had a ROPS installed.
Can't you go to a company that makes custom bearings for obsolete engines for a new bearing? I know there are companies out there that do this service, but I don't know how much they charge. I believe one is Auburn Bearing & Manufacturing, but I don't have any experience with them.
Yeah, that is what I did. Everything that would come out came out and the holes plugged. I made sure I used crushed gravel since crushed gravel has very rough and sharp edges. The whole inside was bright and shiny and didn't stink anymore either! I initially tried shaking the tank by hand...
Clint, I cleaned the tank on my MEP003A by putting crushed pea-size gravel in it with water and dawn dish soap. I then strapped it on one of the rear wheels on my John Deere 5520 tractor and drove it for hours. Clean as a whistle after that. The baffle inside makes it difficult to clean. It...
Good talking to you on the phone today. I forgot to mention one other thing to check. Check that the glow plug is functioning. It could either be burned out or the circuit open. However, as I mentioned on the phone, I believe your Odyssey PC625 battery needs replacing.
This wasn't on a tent, but several years ago I helped a friend remove about 8 inches of dry snow off of a greenhouse. I used my Stihl backpack blower with a 5 or six foot length of PVC pipe duct taped to the end of the output on the blower to add reach. This was a very large Stihl blower, a...
