The water distribution tube is very important on these engines. Make sure yours is in good condition.

I'd try a tank lining solution. I've had excellent results with motorcycle tanks. Be sure and use ospho type solution first after a good pressure washing. Use tape over the pinholes. The liner will plug the pinholes. PM me if you need more info.

Read up on the bonded title process. Texas has several hoops to jump through for your situation. It can be done, it's just time consuming and must be done exactly right.

Stay away from cheap easy outs. Easy to break them off and then you have real trouble. Try Kroil soaking for a long time. Be patient! I only use Rigid extractors myself. Do not try knock off sets. The best of luck to you.

Are you trying to run on 12 volts instead of 24 volts?

Check for too much timing advance just in case.
