HMMWV - Humvee - M1151-A1 - Parking brake emergency safety switch replacement

Botched job? I kinda thought it was in line with what the doctor would do... thinking hip replacement or ??? Only thing missing were the stiches. Old school paper punch and some zip-ties, stitch / lash it up... good for another 30 years. The big selector gap at the bottom is not stopping a...

    M1097A2 build thread

Are we allowed to vote (y)(n)🤔 ? From the peanut gallery.....Not crazy about the scale of size... of the added plate, overhang and square tubing. The "Flying Nun Look" might require a FAA certification. Just hanging with the boys, NOT a jab, cheap shop talk here......🤘 Maybe a very small...

    Fixing the 1998 HMMWV

My two cents worth... Those old rotted, dried out rubber and contacts good when new, 30 years later problems ?? This will save one a headache later. Now the pennies. Get rid of the contacts. Butt splice the wire together, one to one or if the "on & off" windshield is a thing use quality...

    Fixing the 1998 HMMWV

Wednesday's quote of the week.... "The only negative at the moment is... I can't get my mirrors adjusted the way I'd like." You and every other HumV owner. Can't see out the left side and listening for the crash on the right side, CAMO

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Kinda curious... That red cross is like KRYPTONITE. Whoever wears or displays the sign of the Red Cross or any insignia colored in imitation thereof for the fraudulent purpose of inducing the belief that he is a member of or an agent for the American National Red Cross; or Whoever, whether a...

    Fixing the 1998 HMMWV

I was... as it could be problematic if a gummed up sticky mess inside. YOUR QUOTE and coming off hard acceleration, the truck will drop below normal idle and dies. My question is... Starts right back up, most of the time??? Likey the IP is also gummed up with a sticky metering valve or...

    Fixing the 1998 HMMWV

And I see (could be a troublesome ???) check valve feeding the fuel canister top housing. Known to stick and cause headaches. Switch out to this fitting. (picture shows could be good with slight leak at purge/bleed screw) Something else to fix, lol. Get that man a beer, AHaa Tylenol, CAMO

    Fixing the 1998 HMMWV

Another tip from the peanut gallery... slide the flare nut back a little and observe the flared end to mate STRAIGHT in and square to the pump flare. If not a slight tweeeek to the line to match it up. Not a bend or kink or heavy preload. Looking to easy in and both mating flares KISS. I...

    Fixing the 1998 HMMWV

TRUE, And I might add...get a wrench on the that pump fitting with the green dot (last picture pump hard line block) when tightening up to the final torque. Very easy to twist and distort the metal housing. What's with the kool-aid fuel, CAMO
