NP 205 transfer case - oil change

Greetings from Germany. The Lubrication Order says that Dexron III should be used in the transfer case but it does not differentiate between the kind of the transfer case. Some guys say you have to use 80W90 gear oil without the LS lube in the NP205. Now what is the truth here? Thank you!

I like stock and factory CUCVs. I am never in a rush when I enjoy them.

New to me M1028A2 - hard to find, good to go

Sold by Government Liquidation in 2006. The buyer was not able to get a title for it so he sold it. The new owner did get a title in 2025. The A2 drove about 100 miles since 2006 so a complete PMCS is first on the list.

New to me M1028A2 - hard to find, good to go

Thank you sir. Not the first military truck I bring to Germany but the first one via „Roll on, Roll off“. Export papers are complete. Took a while and it was not easy to get them.

M1009 fuel tank builds vacuum when driving

I cleaned the vent on the filler cap with some WD-40 and compressed air. It seemed to work. No more pressure or vacuum when opening the cap after a 20 mile trip. Thanks to all of you.

    Will do so.

M1009 fuel tank builds vacuum when driving

Thanks to all of you. Helped a lot. I will start with gentle compressed air to clean out the vent in the filler cap and go from there. Return line is next if that doesn’t help. Buying another cap is the last option because they are crazy expensive in Germany - about $250

I read to drill a small hole in the fuel cap fixes it? What do you think?
