I am looking at getting some different tread tires for my truck and I see a nice tread design in 9.00-16 but they say they are tubeless. Will a tubeless tire with tube and liner work on a split ring rim?
We’ll update on if it has oil in it and it does. I took out the 5/8 filler plug and stuck my little finger in and it does have what i would describe as clean looking oil in there. If I had to guess seamed like 90w but not real heavy stuff like a grease.
That remains to be seen. I have not taken the fill plug out yet to see what might be in there if anything. i had the same thoughts about it maybe being empty. If that is the case It would make it simple.
Is there an easy way to get the old lube out of the steering box? It has been recommended to me to try some corn head grease in it to see if my steering would be a little easier at those low speeds like trying to maneuver into spaces. Sometimes it is a brutal fight to get backed in somewhere.
I would have never guessed that. My reason for asking is that I am having clutch issues. The pedal is extreamly hard to push in and it does not always release the clutch plate enough to get it into gear with grinding.
Ok guys I got the cable back on the winch today and I let it pull the truck the entire 150'. So my fix for the set screw has held up at least for now. When I decided to try it I removed the set screw completely out of the fork. It was in good shape. I took the air hose and blew out the threads...
I have it back together. It was much easier to put that right side back on with the winch stood up on the left side. That way you will not have that spacer slip out of place. It slid back on with ease that way. I had been waiting for some ISO 460. Had a company named ZORO ship me a gallon. I...
Actually the shifter fork had a 1/2" play in it. Letting the dogs disengage. I have the set screw tight again and there is no slop in it now. At least that is what I have found thus far. I have everything cleaned/dressed up. I will put it back together tomorrow and see if it solved the problem...
Ok guys I just got through a week of **** trying to get the yoke off of the winch for the PTO. The shear pin was sheared for sure so that was not a wasted effort. I got it all put back together and the winch is doing the same thing as before. It will wind about one turn on the drum and turn...
Does anyone know of a good place to get the gear oil for the Braden Winches? I don't need a 5 gal bucket of the stuff. That ISO 460 stuff is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack.
