Could you please post some pictures of your work? This is something I'd love to do to my truck and I want to know what I'm up against. Did you have to add a resistor for the GEN 2 light circuit to get the alternator excited?

I picked up one HMMWV engine in a can using a Stock Chevy silverado at FT. Carson, and the fork lift was able to lift it right into the bed so if your trailer is equal to or lower than a modern pickup bed you should have no problem getting them on.
I paid to have my M1009 shipped and I'm glad I did. You won't really "know" your truck until you put some miles and hours into going all over it. Some CUCVs were well maintained and a lot of others weren't so lucky, think along the lines of new recruits getting their first chance at driving...
