    Can't engage 6X6 on 5 Ton 1971 M813

Detroit /no spin lockers in the rear can help - but do not suggest in steering axle Not to derail the great chat about the transfer case engagement here, but any particular reason not to have a Detroit in the front other than potential slipping out when traversing very slippery off camber...

Replacing a NHC 250 with new drop in engine

I have a good engine in my rig that might be a good trade for someone down the road, that is other than it seems wimpy/gutless for the M813 of mine that it is in LOL. I have hoped to do a big cam swap for mine... just dreaming here. Best wishes on what you do for the fix or swap. I know a guy...

    M818 Benmar Arctic Heater Installation

Good idea on moving the hose to the rear of the block. As I look now at the connection in your pics from the original installation it looks like the heated coolant will only move through that front area of the block just like your statement. Was there a specific port plug you accessed on the...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I have also had good luck with plugs. I would go with one without thinking twice.

@sail78385 Your rig looks great. Not sure why you didn't pick up some votes... Odd.

Proper Pressure Plate adjustment M809 series with manual transmission.

Mounted the new PP with the same height as the old one and am not getting enough travel to have full clutch release and at the other end full throw out bearing disengagement. This is with the new PP at 1.625. So apparently the new PP has a slightly or significantly different lever mechanical...

    Superthermal's M813 Build, THE BOT

Decided I am going to pull the transmission and pressure plate back off and adjust that pressure plate to lower the throw needed to make the clutch fully release so I don't burn up that throw out bearing and ensure it has enough to grab when I wear that disc down. I am waiting for a reply from...

    Superthermal's M813 Build, THE BOT

Forgot to mention I did get the "front wheel drive" kit air switch installed. I think this kit was originally designed for the M35 I would guess from the documentation and extra parts that the kit came with. To install it, I tapped to the air from the original sprag supply air line that comes up...

    Superthermal's M813 Build, THE BOT

@silverstate55 @98G Thanks for the input :) I do have an issue that I am going to need to solve the long, hard way by tearing the whole thing back apart or maybe a few attempts at the easy way. The issue is this new pressure plate, as stated above, was adjusted and installed to the same height...

    Superthermal's M813 Build, THE BOT

Drove in the Provo Grand Parade with an estimation of 350,000 spectators in attendance! Pulling a late night July 3rd getting to new transmission, PTO and clutch all installed. THE BOT looking sweet next to the Dodge showing it who is boss in the driveway. Don't think bad of me for all the oil...

Thinking about buying a 5 ton -- need advice please!

@db72 Like what is being pointed out there are some things to know about each type of MV. Every one has some + and - to it. We are all excited for you, but do be warned you will be spending a significant amount of time and money and money and money getting your rig solid, safe and rolling...
