Over drive planetary. You can purchase the needle bearings to rebuild these if needed. Up until the latest trucks, they were 4 gear planets. If they don't have a ton of miles on them they are pretty tough.

As promised, my tech guy showed me how to do this, charged me double. The "tabs" on the"back" fix the center in place, one-half staked on each one. The opposite side is where the race car guys TIG weld the shaft so it "never" comes out. They don't care to rebuild these anyway. Care should be...

Pulled these out of my project box. These are 5 gear planets for a 4l85 but they are the same. WARNING, this may not work, I have no idea what I'm doing!

Went back and looked at this pic again............. the center shafts on the gear are "fixed" in place, should not fall apart like this.

I don't ever remember the needle bearings "falling" out....... seen straight sun and planets in a couple of motor home transmissions..........the heavy duty trans have 5 gears in the planetary. I would investigate the needle bearing issue a little further. They can be rebuilt if no one has tig...

Seeing you are new to this YOU TUBE can be your friend . There are two or three GOOD videos on these to view. How many planetary gears in your reaction carrier and output carrier? AND, this is not the first time this trans has been apart. Good Luck

I might suggest with either the 2 or 4 inch straps you cut off all but the necessary length needed to wrap the runflat and of course you have to swap the strap from one end to the other on the ratchet. By cutting off the excess you don't have a ball of strap to contend with, and I think a 2 in...

Try putting your left foot on the brake and pushing real hard while holding the gas and see what happens.

I'm going to go out on a limb here an opine this is not the original transmission that came in the truck. If so you have a pig in a poke, no telling what is wrong inside. My advice would be to procure a take out from a "HMMWV" not a civilian vehicle. The ones on the market on the civy side tend...
