Just bought the M817 that I had years ago back and didn't remember there is no PTO engage and disengage like the 929. Been through the manual and it just talks about locking in position A. Am I missing something.... I hauled a lot with this truck so should know the answer...but don't.
I was actually wondering about the difference of 34094 Green 383 and 34095 Field Green or other green that is close. Just wondering about preferences... if any. I always used 34094 in the past. Truck comes tomorrow.
Will be finding out about the Behr as I am buying the M817 that I sold about 15 years ago I used Ultra. Now my question is to go 383 green over it or the "field green" . What FS number... 34094, 34095?
I have the rebuilt Allison 1545 that was going in mine, but I want a spicer manual. It has a direct mounted PTO and pump. If you put your truck in reverse or fourth and feel it slip, keep me in mind. The trans are a special breed, locking torque converter version of the 545... rare.
I've located 385-65-R22.5 tire and rim ready to go on the west coast and shipping gets cheaper as I buy more of them. Is there anyone else that would want in on a combined order, brought to North Indiana. Someplace around $800 each, Goodyear tire with recent date code and 22.5 rim. Matches the...
You know the wheel cylinders can be changed from 1 3/8 to 1 1/2" dia don't you? They did that on the A3 fronts and left the 1 3/8 on rears. I'm not sure volume is sufficient to use 1 1/2" on all 6 on an A2, but could as only small mod to push rod is required. It makes a great mod for A3 4x4...
Purchased the M817 I had about 15 years ago back and wanting to upgrade the front steer tires (and rims) to the 385/65 R22.5 or equal that comes on Hemat trailers. North Indiana. Anybody have some?
So I see now there are many sizes available in the un-machined center that can make the 165mm (6.5") center hole. There is 22", 22.5", and 24". Widths vary too, but 22.5 x 8.25 has been my focus. Not familiar with semi rims, is one preferred over the other for rear duals (on 4x4 deuce)...
You probably have the 5 lug. I don't know about them but they look like the Power Wagon wheels. I think they went to the 8 lug later like the 1101/2 (those are standard and many civilian are available. What do you have on it?
The 545 Allison (and 1545 used in the M35A3) has a PTO port that can handle to 35 hp. It takes the same PTO unit as the 5 tons with 645, just is geared smaller (gears mesh properly). That is 1/1 final so will not set speed records.
It seems that Budd wheel blanks usually used for 10 lug semi wheels, 22.5 by 8.25, have enough center materials to have a 6.50" pilot and then can be drilled/chamfered for 6 on 8.75 BC that fits the deuce with no adaptor.... and are available. We will see. I'm willing to order 4 for the rear...
My M35A3 4x4 has taken many different turns. We rebuilt the Allison 1545 and put a trans mount PTO on it, but that doesn't solve the 1/1 final ratio issue (so I have not put it in). I want highway speed and stuck with the 6.72, the shaft has to turn fast... aka OD. Eaton FSO would be my...
Comment on bone-yards. I saw a man take auto's apart, inventory them and put them in old semi trailers set up to make any part retrievable and protected from the weather. I could see doing that with a military bone-yard. Setting outside with trees growing up through is probably not going to...
