CHEVROLET CAMARO Pioneer Automotive CA-3003 Pioneer Speedometer Cables | Summit Racing
summit says is for 1986 k30.....we will see.....shows for 454, should be the same thing
So the cale
So, to be honest the cable looked like new, still a goldish color and shiny. I took the whole cable out. I took the cable out, and blew through the cable conduit with a bit of lube, similar to WD40. After that, the bouncing slowed but still present. Gears had ATF on them.
bouncing speedo.......gears look ok.....cable removed, cleaned regreased.....fittings at Tcase and speedo look ok....I have the 44 tooth, grey gear.........
Update...........
I took the driven gear out, nice and clean, like new conditions No grease but had some ATF on it. Seals looked ok, supple, etc........
No change.
44 tooth gear is present
Thanks.
Yes very helpful, to your advisement, I am going to remove and inspect the assembly for defects, and adjust as needed. Is there a preferred grease that is over the counter?
Judging by the equation given in the link you supplied, the proper driven gear would be 45 tooth as opposed to 41 tooth.........any thoughts? 30.5 inch tires "factory size"
As of now, the tires are in good shape and are the factory 235/85/16, but when I need new tires, I think I an going up to 255/85/16. Thanks for the offer. I will look into the links you gave and report back.
Thanks fella. I will do as you advise. Will report back.

I checked the cable,
I checked the connections
The speedometer does work, so I think the issue is in the gear set inside the tailshaft of the NP208. I have found a site that still sells the...
Removed the stupid 12 volt system. I get it for those who dont drive them, or intend to use them, but I do, and a 24 volt truck is just not practical for anything other than playing GIJOE.
Wow, just asking a technical question. If you dont have the answer, no problem. GM engineers evidently did not do much....because that "mod" was not factory. I was looking at a diagram of the flow path of the 6.2,, and came up with the question.
I just have not seen any data on this kit on...
I hav
been wondering........
the 6.2 has a bypass hose which connects to the bottom of the crossover and the top of the water pump with a hose, 7\8s I think. Could a hose not be ran to that location with a tee? That hose should be recirculating fluid all the time. My 6.2 has a plate on the...
