Final SITREP on this. I did a bunch of research. Got confused. Ended up calling for help. I got some excellent advice and resources. Ended up replacing the switch, which I think was either worn out or screwed up by me monkeying with it. Also put in proper LED light in the indicator light...
The Nartron pic was just generic. I don't have one to shoot. The light switch itself was the one on the truck when I got it at auction. Green with desert tan chipping off of it all over. I think it's the real deal. I've had it apart three times now. I'm not against replacing it. And I...
It doesn’t blink when in Four way mode (turn signal lever all the way up) either.
so if this points to a bad flasher, I will replace it.
Thanks! I appreciate it
I may want LED headlights some day. So I can’t see totally abandoning LED lights.
I would hate to buy a solid state flasher just to find that I didn’t solve the problem though.
I knew that this might be an issue. Just forgot to mention it. There is a mix. I did what I suspect a lot of newbies do. No RECENT changes before all this started up, but yes. There is a mix.
I know this is a common enough issue, but I am at wits end. I have the manual, have read the manual, and still have no solution.
My turn signals have become erratic. I have the original non-cancelling switch.
I can start up, test the turn signals, have everything work fine, and drive off...
Thank you for the reply. I know it was years ago, but I have a gage problem now, and you pointed me to the exact page in the TM, and I really appreciate it.
So, I took my meter out along with my wiring diagrams.
I have power coming into the three lever switch on circuit 15A.
But no power out from terminal M to 16A, the high beam switch and thence to headlights.
And no power out to 40A from terminal B, the panel lights.
So, would you...
Yes. And I was just hoping that the source of my new switch sold me a legit one. The screws/threads, etc. all seem to be good machine screws, and not wood screws, etc. I haven't opened it up. I guess I should.
Where are the headlights grounded? Is there a spot on frame or other steel part? Different from the other lights?
Have a 2006 M1097R1. Having fits with headlights.
I have the wiring diagram printed out. I am not getting power to the headlights with the switch in proper position. Oddly, I...
Ok, this is the update. Thanks to anyone still riding along...
I have power to the headlights and the tail lights, and the dash lights. I tested the big connector that goes into the back of the light master switch.
I have two master switches. One came with the vehicle. The other I...
That's a brilliant idea. I just printed on six pages and pieced together with tape. But a professionally printed one, with lamination sounds pretty dang awesome. I will have to check with the printshop here in town.
So, I pulled the brake signal light switch. I have 24V on one line and 0 on the other in the vehicle wiring. So I am sure there is voltage getting to the switch. The switch articulates smoothly, but the resistance across the range of the switch activating is not just O and 24V. It kind of...
OK, checking back in. Had to do a thang with the grand kids over the last few days. Gulf Shores, AL. Pretty nice place.
Anyway, my brake lights are always on. And brake lights are the last thing holding me up on having the light gremlins extinguished. I think I need, to add reverse...
