    CHUCKY'S TREE HOUSE !

Have you tried logging it out and back in? SS pestered me with one of those "please wait while we see if you are a human" checks that runs in the background. So they (or we) updated (or refreshed) something I suspect.

    Adding on to M1079 Box

One more note: I conceal carry. Period. But I know not to do so on base. When I first arrived at RRA I parked and walked up to the gate. I asked where I needed to sign in and asked where I could secure my weapon. A smug "Not here" was the answer from Gate Gomer in-charge. One of the dimmer...

    Adding on to M1079 Box

btw: if you're a civilian and going frequenting a military base or places with government security are going to be a common thing, get a TWIC Card if you can. It's just a government approved BG check cert. You'll be done with your ingress paperwork in minutes not hours. Also, ask the guy at...

    Adding on to M1079 Box

I have a story. My buddy and I rolled into Red River in my M1079 to recover a M1082 trailer I'd won at auction. We checked in and after about a hour getting all the clearance paperwork done, the soldier at the desk handed us a faded map that looked like it had been Xero'ed a thousand times...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

There's a thread here about the 2.0 They aren't out yet (development). They'll be much more expensive, supposedly. And they protrude out a bit more (which could be an issue depending on terrain, I've seen guys rip CTIS valves off the wheels and tearing off a hub could be a bit more of a problem...

    Seat upgrade

Pacifica center row seats (w/heater) New take-offs from a handicap van conversion. Picked them up from FB Market ($50 for the set, 10 minutes from home). Used the OEM sliders and fabricated a mounting bracket. I got pretty lucky finding the color that I wanted. I was after something with...

    Cab will not raise

Also, note that there are two fluid reservoirs for the system (assuming that it's not a winch truck). One is by the pump and the other is below the hand pump. If you have the standard cargo bed, both are easy to access (an M1079, not so much). But you want to keep both tanks filled when it...

    Cab will not raise

Get both kits. The Pump Rebuild Kit and the Latch Rebuild Kit. The latch misting fluid and causing a pressure loss is just as common (if not more so) than the pump. May as well renew both because when rubber bits start to go, it's time to watch the others (and the latch kit is cheap). As far...

    Diagnosing CTIS M1078

Not mine. My old M1078 was a 1998 A0 truck (sold in Texas). My current is a M1079A1R But if it's an A1R, post some pics. Odds are good that we might know some history (not many in the wild).

    Seat Covers for M1078 A0

One of the improvements that the A1R trucks got was a minor fix to the OEM seats. As anyone who has ever ridden in an A0 will tell you, there is a metal plate under the seat. In the A1R trucks, they deleted that plate. Guess what? Your arse doesn't bottom out on that metal plate is the metal...

    Diagnosing CTIS M1078

And now the bad news. Your 2008 is technically an M1078A1R. The TMs readily available cover the early A0 trucks. Some of the electronic manuals (CD ROM kits) cover the A1. But the A1R stuff is till being used by the military, and those computer manuals are not cheap to come by (with all their...

Potential HD Shocks (King) Group Buy

I'm assuming that these are 3" shock bodies and 3" res?

    Eco Hubs 2.0

I didn't see the answer on "how do you physically engage/disengage them?"

Potential HD Shocks (King) Group Buy

Interested, but not sure I can afford them at the moment. But if things start to come together with an order, I'd be needing a pair of front and rear for an A1R 2 front 2 rear

    60,000 BTU heater in M1079

It's loud due to all of the above. Both the blowers (for the burner feed and air circulation) and the fact that it's ducted in a small aluminum structure to amplify it even more. Keep in mid the blowers run even when the thing is in cool-down mode. Then they all cycle back up with each cycle...

    Adding on to M1079 Box

This is what I originally wanted to do: Some random images (none mine): This idea seems like a great support mechanism for a slide-out or rear porch. The M1079 could do it with the smaller/upper rail:

    Adding on to M1079 Box

A few M1079 builds have added an extension out thru the rear doors. If I were extending the box, that would be how I'd do it. At one point, I considered a slide-out doing just that (extending out a couple feet when retracted, then expended out several additional feet when deployed).

    FMTV Replacement Door Handle Upgrade

One of the best mods that I did to the truck was redesigning the linkage between latch and handle. I'd tried replacing the OEM A0 plastic retainers. I'd tried using metal Ford carbonator rod clips (basically what the A1R used). All of which failed in very short order. I even welded tiny washers...

    CHUCKY'S TREE HOUSE !

Nope, life stuff in the way still. Had to move the M1082 and the seal blew in the Haldex gizmo aft of the air tank. No part tag on it, but I had one apart before and it'll just be the tiny rubber seal at the top cap. Need to find the part number and see if there is a rebuild kit (never got the...

    Petlas 395-85 R20 tires

I remember as a teen, a local's story from Durango CO where a guy was on a log road in his RV with his family. They stopped at a view and with the driver away from the seat and the rig supposedly in park, the RV went over the cliff (no survivors). The wreckage confirmed that the vehicle had...
