I just put a set of 38x10.50x16 directional tires on my XM708 and except for tread depth am fairly content with them. I'm moving my 37 from my hanger over to the construction shop where the 708 is, and want to put a taller set of directional tires on the 37. Geronee (a Chinese company) has just...
I pulled the hood today and started removing that dent that has been bugging me.
The hood is held on by six bolts, and every one of them resented me....
Checked the oil level for the first time in about 50 years. Oil was dark, but looked relatively good. No condensation, no crud. Need to blow off the head depressions around the sparkplugs and clean the accumulated crud before pulling the sparkplugs to squirt the cylinders with oil, or maybe...
Started work on building it today.
Set the lower hinge in place (6 foot bar 1-1/8" diameter).
Tailgate lever up at the cab was frozen. PB Blaster and a bigggg hammer got it started working, but it doesn't have full travel yet.
Need to buy a sheet of 10 gage steel and have it cut to length and...
I took measurements of mine today, drew it in AutoCad, made a PDF, and printed it full scale.
Tomorrow I will quantify the discrepencies and will correct them Monday.
Once I'm happy with it, would anyone like a full scale copy?
I run Detroit Automotive KS-22s in my M37 and 1962 W200 Crew Cab, but they are no longer available, and I am dithering about what to install in my XM708.
What do you guys recommend, and why?
I went out to my hanger this morning to measure the one on my 37 so I could modify the lower grill on the 708 to match. The entire 37 grill is missing.
I have extras, so no big deal there, but I don''t have another lower grill for a winch truck.
So, I need a big favor. Would one of you guys...
When I was mounting my reproduction M13 lockouts, I realized my left front axle shaft(s) were broken.
So I ordered the inner and outer shafts. Box arrived today. Packing list showed both shafts as did delivery email.
But the outer shaft was NOT in the box. I'm not a happy camper - wondering...
I finally got that ugly front bumper off the truck.
Gotta bring a winch style lower grill in from the hangar before I install the winch bumperettes. Removing rusted 70 year old bolts was a chore.
Got two new STA 10.50x16 tires mounted on the XM708 today. I like the diameter, width, and tread design, but I wish the lugs were deeper (only 19/32 inch.)
Tomorrow I'll mount the reproduction M13 lockouts and pull the rear drive shaft to repair the tube.
I'm leaning toward these amber clearance lights, but am dithering a bit on where to place them - optimal visibility vs whacking them on a tree.
Any suggestions ?
The rears will be red and mounted on the outboard side of the bumperettes.
