Still Can't Hit 7th Gear on M1078 After Eco-Hubs. Fault or Feature?

This is normal with Ecohubs. I've only seen 7th gear a couple times when the speed has been over 70mph.

    New Owner 2002 LMTV

To avoid holes in the roof I plan to mount my flexible solar panels similar to how the guy in this video does it with T-track brackets bonded to the roof with VHB tape/Sikaflex:

    New cab suspension system

Interesting setup, is the shock shaft the only thing securing the rear of the cab to the frame now?

From the pics of your brackets, it looks like the box is bolted solid to the frame all the way around. Do your mounts have any way to accommodate frame flex, or is the ambo box stout enough that it isn't a concern?

    Eco Hubs 2.0

On Facebook he said there's a handle that inserts into the 2 holes in the end of the hub and it rotates to engage or disengage like a 4x4 locking hub.

    Little Bear Build

Nice, what kit did you use? The regulator fell apart inside the door on my driver's side window so I'm at a crossroads on whether to repair the manual system or go with power windows.

I might be a little crazy – 4,000 mile M1079 recovery Illinois to Alaska

Haha, joke is on me because I don't think there is anywhere in Alaska that even pays for scrap steel. But hey, according to our favorite MV parts scalpers, I'm sitting on $3,500 worth of parts here :ROFLMAO:.

I might be a little crazy – 4,000 mile M1079 recovery Illinois to Alaska

Yeah, from the photos it was hard to tell if they were new or used due to the rust, but for 6 bucks I took the chance. They're all new but are bare steel and look like they've been sitting out in the weather for a few years. No kidding! I didn't have a truck available to load the pallet onto...

I might be a little crazy – 4,000 mile M1079 recovery Illinois to Alaska

Well I certainly didn't need them, but I am now the proud owner of 7 new brake drums for the grand price of $6.06 after taxes and fees. Gotta love surplus auctions!

    Little Bear Build

@MatthewWBailey did just that, it looks like it took a fair bit of fab work: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/a1-exhaust-reroute.220333/

Potential HD Shocks (King) Group Buy

I'm interested in a set of front A1R shocks for sure, and possibly rears as well.

Thoughts on removing coil springs on A1R

Here would be best. The classifieds don't allow responses except from the original poster, so everything would have to be handled through private message.

I might be a little crazy – 4,000 mile M1079 recovery Illinois to Alaska

Woke up to a crisp 36 degree morning the other day so I decided it was time to install a block heater and replace the old coolant that came with the truck:

Just won an auction - M1088A1

Yeah those cab bushing bolts can be a bear, I still need to tackle the driver's side on mine. I replaced the lower passenger side one with a MME repro earlier this year and it is already cracking... I'm jealous of you guys with your A/C units, at this point I think I'm going to have to wait it...

What tires should I get for Mall Crawling?

On a related note, does anyone know what size CTIS valves will fit on my 30" rims? I need to be able to air down before I hit the speed bumps in the Costco parking lot. I'd prefer orange CTIS hoses to match my Maxxxxtraxxxx XXXXL recovery boards.

    P6 thrust bearing dodged a bullet…

Right? There's probably a good market for the Ronmar™ thrust bushing for those that don't want to shell out $400 for Allison's little piece of plastic.

    Flip up turret cover

A few of us have installed commander's roof hatches from the first gen HIMARS trucks, they are a very nice direct-fit solution if you can manage to track one down. They are few and far between, so fabbing something up might be the easier route if you have the ability.

Source for Michelin XZL 365/85 R20?

Small world, my mom spotted them in Valdez, AK yesterday and sent me a pic. If they need those tires up here in AK they're probably going to have to special order new ones straight from a dealer, or freight some up from one of the surplus resellers. The "local" commercial/industrial Michelin...

Anyone Interested in Winch Mount Platform?

Yeah that's what I was envisioning - it would be semi permanently mounted on one end, but could be dragged around and hooked up at the other end in an emergency.
