Hey there, the OSC 850 from RockAuto (the one I bought) actually has 3 quite large rows, even if it’s sold as a 2 row
You will have to modify the upper supports a bit, the radiator is slightly shorter height wise, and the fitting are somewhat strange, they include some adapters that are finicky...
Hi everyone,
My M1008 has had crossover steering on it since before I bought it, and one of the tie rod ends needs urgent replacement, specifically the upper passenger side one (the one that connects the passenger side knuckle to the drag link)
Since the most popular crossover steering kit is...
Hi everyone,
My truck recently developed a radiator leak, I think it's some sort of hairline crack between the inlet tank and the core. Brought it to a local radiator shop but they couldn't locate the leak as it apparently only leaks while it's cooling down, they just gave me a bottle of...
Or, alternatively (since it would be quite the job because the exhaust is in the way) does anybody know where I could get a replacement for said upper mount? Maybe even from a different vehicle, I could adapt them to my need. I looked online and F-250/350 rear upper shock mount go for relatively...
Hi everyone,
My rear shocks are shot, so I took them off, measured them and bought a equivalent lenght/travel from Bilstein, 5125 series (yet to install for reasons that I'm about to explain). My truck is not stock, and has been so for the past 3-4 owners.
Bad news is: previous owner decided...
Maybe I'm getting things mixed up then, let's see if I got it now: my problem could be related to the VRV and/or vacuum modulator because, for instance, I'm getting too much vacuum at the modulator at any given throttle position and the transmission "thinks" that I'm in a no-load situation...
The shift points don’t seem low to me considering that the RPMs sound pretty high when shifting, maybe you are thinking about M1009s shift points? The M1009 has 3.08 final ratio vs M1008/M1028 having 4.56
I think I’ve read somewhere that M1008 upshifts should happen at 15mph for 1-2 and 25mph...
The reason that I didn't check that to being with is that the upshifts seem fine, other than being a bit harsh, 1-2 at 15mph and 2-3 at 25mph, so I didn't go directly to the vacuum part of the system. It's the vacuum modulator that dictates the non-WOT upshifts, right?
Yes, M1008 or M1028, not really too sure.
Never really tested the vacuum... my bad. I should really get the whole vacuum system checked, hoses, pump, VRV, all the goodies.
'Evening everyone,
Ever since I bought my CUCV, I always felt a bit of a hard shifting behaviour, which ultimately got traced down to one of the POs installed a transgo shift kit and got crazy with the holes in the valve body plate, drilling them to max recommended size, so that's kind of taken...
Also, thanks for all the info.
PS, since the speedometer gets the signal from the GV Overdrive unit, that would mean that I should look for the drive gear inside the OD unit, right? Do they use the same color coding as GM stuff?
Hi everyone,
My CUCV has a GV Overdrive unit installed, it has been by a previous owner, dating back probably 15 years at the least.
It works great and it really gives some relief to the engine at highway speeds.
Now, the problem I have is that the speedometer reads about 15% less than the...
Sorry for the confusion, maybe I got things wrong as I thought that those lights from the factory are only parking lights
in my case, the lights are only used as turn signals, for markers I use the main headlights as they have some integrated amber lights as well as a couple of small amber LED...
Thanks!
I was a little worried with the fitment because it's not reeeaaally squared with the headlight bezel but I gave a check at the old parking lights at they weren't squared either so not a big deal
Hi everyone,
Thought I'd share a little project I've been working on the last couple of days
A little introduction as to why I've done this: I'm from Italy, and here vehicles are required to have turn signals visible from the front of the car, a thing which squarebodies don't have. So, I could...
Got it.
As stated, I'll check for bubbles in hope of finding them.
If I remember correctly, I just have to lift the front, steer lock-to-lock and pump the brakes a couple of times, and even with the engine off that should move some bubbles to the reservoir IF there's air present, right?
