    KS antique vehicle policy change

That's probably what I'll do. Just frustrating they can make changes like that.

    KS antique vehicle policy change

That's what I was seeing. Very frustrating, as one of the benefits was low cost of ownership. They show a weight based scale that puts the annual tag fee at 475 dollars (assuming a gross weight of 34,000 pounds based on 24,000 for the truck plus 10,000 load) plus presumably property tax on top...

    KS antique vehicle policy change

I recently received this letter from my county treasurer. I was wondering if anyone else was aware of this policy change, and wondering what it really means. The way I'm reading it, my truck (M51A2) is still eligible for antique plates, so long as it's not used to haul anything. I'm...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Round 2. Mission completed. Scaled 22,880 loaded, 20,920 empty. Had transfer case pop out of gear in downtown traffic and didn't want to go back in, so adding shift linkage adjustment to list of to-do's, but finally went in and made it home.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Haha. Yes. Lesson learnt. Truck has been mostly sitting. Last 3 years have been 70+ hours a week and none of the toys have been getting used. Probably only drove it once this year. So it needs some attention and I tried to press it into service without doing any checks. I had the belts...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Had a load of scrap on the truck and a nice enough day to haul it to the scrap yard. Made it to town and truck started getting hot. Pulled it into the Walmart and found the water pump belts off and the compressor belt twisted. Was able to get a ride to the house and came back with parts and...

    931A2

You might check your grounds. I have intermittent issues with my turn signals I believe are caused by that.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I do. Let me know what you find out. Thanks.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

I picked up some tires to single out the M51A2. Got 4, still looking for a couple more. Got them home today and I think I made a mistake. I think these are MRAP wheels.

    M1088 with civilian trailer

I hadn't considered a sliding hitch for clearance. I like that idea.

    M1088 with civilian trailer

Awesome. I hadn't considered blocks. I assume thats because the jacks dont go high enough? Likely it would only be my own trailers, so hopefully the blocks wouldn't be an issue.

    M1088 with civilian trailer

That's why I am asking if anyone has done it. I know it's tall, but is it workable with a civilian hitch? Or is it still too tall? And does it clear landing gear when turning? I know that some guys have swapped to civilian 5th wheels on other military tractors to eliminate the swivel...

    M1088 with civilian trailer

I've been looking at possibly picking up a M1088 and am looking for opinions on usability. I don't intend to use it commercially. Unless maybe I could pick up some extra work with it maybe pulling grain trailers for local farmers. I realize that the hitch height is typically an issue with...

    What an interesting M998

Looks a lot like the hunting platforms on the trucks at hunting ranches.

    M936A2 boom extension

If you get an opportunity, that would be fabulous.

    M936A2 boom extension

I know this is an old thread, but of anyone has pictures of a setup like this, I would appreciate it. Been thinking of something similar for settujg trusses on a building.

M720 dolly to move shipping container

He definitely seemed to know what he was doing. Was interesting to watch. He got it nearly exactly where I had envisioned it. I'll chain on with the M51a2 and shift it a touch this weekend I've always had an interest in wreckers and towing and winching. All the different little attachments...

M720 dolly to move shipping container

Got delivered yesterday. Truck was big enough that it wasn't out of balance, I suppose. Cost was $300 to move about 15 miles.

M720 dolly to move shipping container

The way they said they would move it was on a roll back. They said 26 foot bed, let the rest hang off, and put tow lights on the back. They were scheduled to move it today, but apparently not. Hopefully tomorrow.
