    M135 Manuals

Hey Guy. Here are all the M135 manuals I own. Not sure if they are all the M135 manuals out there though. TM9-8024 ( I have 7 copies) TM9-8023-6 Telephone Truck V-17A TM9-8607 Steering Gear "Saginaw" 1954 TM9-1825-B Electrical Equipment 'Auto-Lite' 1952 TM9-1825-C...

    HydraMatic Trans Cooler Gasket

I talked about this with the "Gardico" engineers. That is why they used the material they did. It stands up to gasoline, diesel, oil, water, and heat. Also, if your careful during disassembly you can reuse the gaskets. I spent about 6 months going back and forth to Gardico bringing in parts I...

    HydraMatic Trans Cooler Gasket

My bad. What is the cost difference between yours and the Gardico gasket ?

    HydraMatic Trans Cooler Gasket

You cut off the ends too much. There is not much "meat" to seal on the housing. Also you can order these already from "Gardico" in Seattle.

    M135 miss firing engine

I totally forgot about that post. The problem of the distributor cap still remains though.

    Auxiliary transmissions and the Deuce

I'm partial to the Spicer myself. Eaton has always had a higher parts replacement cost. Don't know why, but they do. Both boxes are good though.

I know this has been covered before but have never seen a real answer

Hah ! He just cheats and uses the parts TM ! ;) He probably does have the part numbers memorized too !

Which military truck is the most capable? Good survival vehicle?

I've thought about this issue for years now. I personally own two Chevy 1 ton duallys and a two M35 Deuces. Also a totally outfitted M105 trailer with dual wheels and two spare tires mounted on it with a command shack on it with all the tools you would ever need for any breakdown. Plus, a...

    M135 miss firing engine

OK. Now were getting somewhere. This will solve the points problem but what about that silly cap and rotor assembly ? Anyone have a good idea ?

    M135 miss firing engine

How did you eliminate the points ? What is triggering the module ?

    M135 miss firing engine

I would love to see your set-up, how you did it. I wonder if a "crank mounted" type of ignition could be easily adapted to this engine ? At this point there is not much any of us can really do since parts are not available. We either "reuse" our old parts or find a way to "adapt" something else.

Splines pushing through dust cap on slip yoke - how bad is this?

Those are for the older M211 and early M34/M35 trucks. The M35A2 Deuce uses a heavy duty "I" beam design. The smaller round tubes can be bent much easier than the newer style.

    M135 miss firing engine

Sadly "Timken" joined the "will it pass the minimum standard" group of manufactures decades ago. Now I pay a premium for 1970-1980's NOS Timken bearings I find on eBay. Of course that will soon dry up, or already has dried up. We the consumer had no choice on what parts we bought. I know that...

    M135 miss firing engine

Totally with agree with you Bulldogger about switching to a newer HEI type of ignition. The problem lies with the small market share these military engines present. Yes, there are comparable Civilian engines, but they too represent an extremely small market. So basically, were stuck with the...

    M135 miss firing engine

Normally I don't comment on Engine problems, especially on gasoline engines, but I had an issue recently that might help out others here. I was diagnosing an engine miss that I just couldn't find the cause. After pulling the Distributor and tearing it down I found the culprit. The distributor...

I'm pretty sure they are close to CAT diesels system. At least the last one I looked at was. I never heard of any aftermarket stuff for either CAT or John Deere on their injection systems either. Not enough units out there for that. Oh, and yes, the rain is getting kind of out of hand around...

That is crazy ! How long does it take your team to fix these shafts ? I would love to see the equipment you use to do it.

What Sea Cans are you talking about ? Some new project ? Or is this work related. I'm still trying to get my library in order. Installed more shelves, and I need to bring up 5 metal cabinets for my "Motor Manual" Collection.
