I am selling two M1152s.
One is from 2013 as far as I can tell, runs/drives, registered/titled in Texas. Uncertain mileage, came to me without a speedometer. Got it running with help from this forum, needed just a few missing pieces that had been removed, then added back mirrors, lights...
So I had been chasing a power steering leak for quite some time, intermittent issue so that was fun...
Anywho, for those with the M1152/A2 with the big alternator, the hose off the Cadillac valve to the cooler (the aux cooler at the passenger rear fender well) runs dangerously close in a pinch...
Have (temporarily) wired up two group 34 batteries, only had to use one custom battery cable linking the two, they fit great in the existing space of the lower battery tray. Picture below. Not sure if this helps anyone.
In the process, I removed an electrical component in the second image...
I used the smaller group 34, just 2. Haven't had any issues but also just did this tonight, YMMV. Only had to make 1 custom cable linking the two batteries, facepalm moment when I could've bought an off the shelf battery cable vs the hydraulic crimp tool and 40 ft of 1/0 cable... oops.
Anyone interested/able to tow a LMTV non running from Springtown to Marble Falls? Approximately 200 miles one way.
Awaiting EUC, but not my first rodeo, hopefully won't be long?
The site apparently doesn't have loading assistance which is great considering it's a 17k lb rig. Ideally a RGN...
Took the truck to Hidden Falls Adventure park, what a beast, got to use the brake modulation technique.
On a different note, has anyone done business with ComTac? I bought a voltage regulator and 2 air filters among other things and got a used rather than new regulator that had clearly been...
Needed a hitch receiver on the HMMWV to hold a winch and instead of buying a $150 part, spent far more $$ on a plasma cutter and welder from Harbor Freight and a bit of 3/8 plate steel and about 3 or 4 hours of my evenings this past week. Not the prettiest welds but I think she'll hold. Grade 8...
I did have to remove the 2 rear bolts and pushed the starter to the side for installation. I used a new felpro seal in the rear but made the gasket from black RTV as it came from the factory.
Got an aluminum radiator installed and found cheap AGM batteries with a 4 year warranty.
Thanks for the advice, definitely putting all new rubber while I've got it stripped down.
Your rig is awesome, love the setup. I have all 2 seat variants and haven't gotten to the point of upgrading yet.
Picked up a 2003 1097 with 42 original miles, which I hope doesn't turn around to bite me. A forklift operator was kind enough to dent the oil pan right under the pickup so my first order of business was replacing the pan. Next step is to install a radiator and see if this thing runs!
First off, thank you all who run this site for all of your help. I've been enjoying my HMMWV due to much help from you all.
I acquired this ?07 M1152 in non-running/driving condition but have had it operational for at least the past year again thanks to help from members on this site.
Most...
Thanks for your help, definitely considering a swap to a more affordable/accessible 24v alternative. I'll double check the voltage on wire #5. Thanks again!
I recently acquired a 2013 M1152 from GovPlanet and got it running and driving again, however it has a 400A alternator with a no charge situation. Voltage across the batteries is reading 24.5v (each battery is at 12.3v with engine off) while engine is running or not, volt meter gauge is showing...
I don't really have control of the logistics, I paid for shipping via VeriTread 4 months ago. Congrats on finally getting your EUC! Glad the wait is finally over.
