24 volts on 12 volt ignition switched post in PDP

Ok, the LMTV uses 24v gauges with 12v lighting… Look in the schematic, and identify the gauge power fuse. It is sourced from 24v switched ignition power…

Freaking Out About Lack of Climbing Power From Dead Stop.

running, most definitely running in N... Here is the procedure from the -10 manual. "Check transmission/transfer case oil level daily with vehicle parked on level surface and transmission range selector in Neutral (N). Safe operating oil level is when transmission/transfer case fluid level is...

    M1078 A1 transfer case

Oh i thought you had checked that strainer behind the fitting where the line leaves the trans to the scavenger pump.

Freaking Out About Lack of Climbing Power From Dead Stop.

The winch system hydraulic level is completely separate and would have no effect on this. you are checking the trans oil using the procedure in the -10 operators manual right? The tach in the dash being an unknown, i would not mess with getting it working for this. Do you know anyone with a...

Freaking Out About Lack of Climbing Power From Dead Stop.

The winch control doesn't really do anything in the transmission. the PTO is hard coupled to the aux drive gear on the left side as is the scavenger pump on the right side of the main transmission housing. The winch control basically asks the TCU if it's OK to PTO, at which time it outputs a...

Freaking Out About Lack of Climbing Power From Dead Stop.

I interpreted screaming to indicate high RPM. But that is very subjective so he really needs a tach reading to nail this down…

Freaking Out About Lack of Climbing Power From Dead Stop.

I have had no real luck finding any specific info for out TC-418 converter beyond it’s peak conversion ratio of 1.98:1. I have been working thru some router config and computer timing and communication issues at work and my google-fu has been pretty weak, so I gave some AI assistance a try...

Freaking Out About Lack of Climbing Power From Dead Stop.

i would disagree with that a little. Turbo output is a factor of engine load(No load, no boost). During a stall condition, you are asking for all the engine has to give, so the turbo will be at full spool/boost/delivery if it is making it to peak torque RPM.

Freaking Out About Lack of Climbing Power From Dead Stop.

Ok, a stall test doesn’t stall the engine, it simply hits a point where it cannot increase any further in RPM, despite full pedal application yes it is done like you describe. 2nd gear, stand on the brakes and push the accelerator to the floor and note where the RPM stops increasing. I found...

Freaking Out About Lack of Climbing Power From Dead Stop.

Couple of questions: What exactly do you mean by ”engines screaming”? Do you have a tach Or a digital volt meter that will read frequency? You really need to know what RPM the engine is stalling at when you apply full pedal. converter stall test is powertrain diagnosis 101 for an automatic...

Alternative Oil Pressure Switch (10psi vs. 15psi)

Yea anything in that range should work, easier to install if it is a 2wire switch. It also controls/enables the alternator:)

    LMTV brake control valves

Yea I live in a logging community, my local napa has extensive airbrake components, as suggested napaonline and you should be able to locate them

Yep, common off the shelf air brake components. Napa will have them…

It clears the round huck-bolted crossmember in the lower/main frame rail just fine…

    M1078 A1 transfer case

I suspect the bushing will better withstand the tap-tap-tapping from the clutch carrier. In the case of the roller, I believe the repeated impacts loosen/fail those crimps(appears to be what happened to mine). Once the cover pops off continued tapping with the cover no longer lined up properly...

M1078 Fire Truck with eco hubs

Well thats 3 tons of water! do you have an all up weight? One thing to be aware of is that with CTIS setting the same pressure axle to axle, if you have different axle weights you will have significantly different tire wear… getting front-rear axle weights might help you tailor pressures to...

    M1078 A1 transfer case

Unfortunately, in order for those roller bearings to get to the drain, they must pass thru the clutch, and there is not a lot of room for that to happen with the alternating stacked disks and center carrier… i would suspect some P6 case/cover damage:( i think someone really miscalculated the...

    Inversion Valve Leaking M1078A0

The inversion turns your park brake springs into emergency brakes if you should loose primary(rear) air. it is a spool valve with a sliding core. in one position park air passes thru to the anti-compound valve to release the park springs. in the other position it closes off the park air from...

    Niehoff alternator question

They only release parts to their dealers/overhaulers. lots of opinions on this, here is mine: Replace it with a straight 24V alternator like a Delco 110A@24V alt. Use a Victron Orion 24-12 converter to provide 12V@70A for the vehicle. one or 2 other small mods will make this a solid power...

New M1081 Owner, needs a name I guess.

It should be connected to comp/PS pump using the lower PS pump bolt over to block with I think 3 bolts there into the block.
