Gents ,

I have a first gen Mule with the 4 cylinder that always started right up and run fine . The other day it started fine again run for a few minutes , whereby it started making a knocking sound ( almost like a backfire sound but more like skipping sound ) died and then would not start up again . If I use starter fluid , still nothing just a ocassional back fire .

I took the magneto off and checked it and it fires out of all four wires at the same every time I hand turn it . Not sure if its normal to fire out of all four every time .

Glow plugs are fouled so I am wondering if timing chain migt have jumped . When I look in the hole of the magneto case the chain is quite loose especially at the lower side under the magneto connector wheel .

Any inputs or ideas please guys ?
