The steering cylinders on my 6000M telehandler are leaking. The are welded hydraulic cylinders and I am looking at getting new ones that are rebuildable. I tracked some down on Ebay.
Page 0142 00-1 of TM 10-3930-660-24-1 indicates that the grease fitting to grease fitting measurement on the extended steering cylinder should be adjusted to 26-3/8'. I measured the existing cylinders and the fully extended measurement from grease fitting to gf looks to be about 30-1/2". I don't see how the manual can be correct. Is is supposed to be 30-3/8"? Is there a corrected page somewhere? Am I doing something wrong?
My other question relates to the part numbers for the cylinders. The left side front and rear steering cylinders are one part number (A1-3280Q9819) and the right side are a different number (A23280K9449) (but same for front and back). A23280K9449 seems to cross reference to part number A2-3280-P-9818, but if someone can help me on that, it would also be appreciated. Is there somewhere to get spec sheets for all these cylinders? To me, the cylinders look the same? Is there something different about the ball joint rod ends? What is the difference?
