If anyone needs information regarding the Armstrong MT500 and/or MT350 (special forces mobility motorcycles), I may be able to help. My collection of ATKs used the Rotax 504 engine design, which the Armstrongs share. The engine itself is quite different from the Japanese types of power units, but very reliable and understandable. It's simple, but a very good design. The number one item is DON'T TRY TO START IT with a timing belt of unknown vintage...a broken belt will destroy the engine. Belts are readily available, as are other parts. Give me a shout if you need information.

Gave mine a kinda refurb this summer, but when the carb flooded/needle stuck... lost a little momentum! Need to rekindle that flame - used to love riding it on or off road..

Easy to get sidetracked, that's for sure. I've got a whole barn full of projects exactly like that. If I get stuck on a carb that won't cooperate, I'll install a Mikuni TM38-86 with a new carb socket. Jetting is typically spot on out of the box, and they're still reasonably affordable...the new carb socket eliminates potential microscopic cracks in an old rubber part that can cause frustrating issues.
