CUCV Floor pan replacement problem

86 M1009 replacing the rockers and part of the floor pan due to rust. Ordered all the parts from LMC and most have worked out just fine (with small modifications). Problem I have is the "channel" (where the outer rocker sits near the door) of the front floor pan matching the channel of the rear floor pan. The front has a 1x1 inch "channel where the outer rocker sits. The rear floor pan has the same channel but it is only 1/2 deep x 1 inch. Also the bend in the channel is 90 degrees while the front channel has a more gradual bend. The rocker cannot sit into the channel on the rear floor pan. I do have the inner rocker panel and know there are modifications that will need to be made. Right now - I'm just trying to get the floor pans to fit together.

I only need 4-5 inches from the door of both panels so them not aligning in other areas is not a problem for me. How have others modified the rear floor pan to fit the front and allow for the outer rocker to sit in the channel?

Thanks!
