My initial dive into FAV Side Bin fabrication came from a template Roger traced for me from one of his bins. Zooming in on the various member builds has shown quite a few differences between individual FAV. In this case I've noticed a difference in fabrication methods for the 1" OD Aluminum tubing that forms most of the Side bin structure.
Some of the FAV like Roger's 0091and Mogman's 0010 the outside rear corners of the bin tubing is miter cut/welded.

Jshull's has a bit different fabrication, the 1" OD tubing is butted, uncut OD tube welded to the other side uncut.

Some of the FAV Lore suggests the side bins were included in the original FAV fielding by Emerson. Other Veteran accounts recall the side bins being an upgrade during the overhaul/rebuild process the Light Attack Bns went through in late 1985 to early 1986 prior to the Team Spirit deployment to South Korea.*

(Also prior to overseas deployment the FAV commo systems would have had the KY57/TSEC encryption system installed, the "J Box" under the existing MT1029/VRC; the vehicular power adapter for the KY57/TSEC VINSON itself as well as the multitude of cables that joined and powered everything. Even during my time in an Infantry or Armor Bn stateside we broadcasted in the clear with no encryption equipment*-[except for NTC rotations which were simulated combat deployments, "Fight how you Train; Train how you Fight]. Everything we did when I was stationed forward in Germany, Berlin specific in my case, was always encrypted] )
