Yep, I'm a FNG from GA. I joined a couple weeks ago and started reading, reading, reading about HMMWVs and repair procedures, as well as preventative maintenance. I've always liked offbeat stuff that not very many other people have (read: esoteric), and the Humvee is right up my alley. Currently gathering parts to ensure a reliable farm vehicle after its electrical system was overloaded and the generator caught fire (in its previous life with an AL sheriff's department). I vastly prefer this type of website as opposed to something like Facebook, because information posted on message boards like this has greater durability. FB posts, even if full of useful technical information, disappear into the ether like all the others. Thanks for keeping the site up and running, and I'm looking forward to becoming a long time lurker. Happy trails.

Welcome to the Outfit!

Thanks for the kind words. The moderators here work pretty hard to clean the fluff and maintain the site. Be sure to check out the TM section for manuals for your "new to you" vehicle. Looking forward to seeing you around...

Welcome from Texas,
Bought my M1152A1 from the USMC logistics base in Albany Ga. Grew up in Albany Ga. Be careful of anything coming out of Albany on govplanet. they took some kids xbox away and made him get out of bed to demil my 1152. they gave him a sawzall and said go to town.
Kid cut through my valve cover, cut through my fuel filter drain line, broke off the condenser drain valve in commander area and a couple extra things. Its true what they say... you cant go back home.
Hit me up if you have any questions. dave
