Made more progress. Got a great price on some g287 11r20 tires that were 95-98% tread and 2 of the 11 tires are 100% I installed a pyrometer from hewitt industries.

I also recently got done with repacking the 4 rear hubs, new seals, gaskets, repacked bearings and adjusted the brakes.

After 12 years of using a 1/2" impact I broke the end of it. Decided to go with an upgrade, got a 3/4" impact.

Got some updates on the glad hand situation on the front of the truck. The service glad hand was removed and it looks like someone removed it but left the fitting where it turns and does a 90 degree turn into the frame. I removed the fitting and its caked with mud. Stuck a pick in there and sprayed wd40 to try and loosen stuff up but who knows how much schmoo is in there. So plan is to loosen from inside the frame and then disconnect at the air tanks and see if I can blast it with some air and free it up. Afterward ill install another glad hand and have a vented cap and shouldn't have issues.

I pulled the front axle on passenger side ajd started the cleaning and repacking. Found water and grease in the hub. Trucks getting new boots and all new seals, gaskets, etc. Bearings look good. Awaiting some parts to come in.

Made some progress this weekend. The bearings, hub, housing, and knuckle cleaned out. Got the right front end all packed with grease. 12lbs of grease between bearings, cv joint, housing and hub! New outer wheel bearing seal. New boot with safety wire, all zirks on passenger front side greased. I opted to install the outer wheel seal on the front to keep potential crap/junk out of the outer bearing. Some guys run them, some dont. Brakes being adjusted next. Hopefully wont have to touch this front end again for awhile.

I have all new brake lines coming and a remote reservoir coming as well. More updates tomorrow.

Well I figured out the front left issue. Wheel cylinder failed along time ago. Removed brake line and no brake fluid came out which is odd. Took almost an hour to get the drum off. Backed off the minor adjustments and still didnt budge. Finally got the drum off and you can see the wheel cylinder pistons are stuck open, front one more than the rear. I opened the rubber boot and just solid crap inside. Ordered a new front wheel cylinder. Front left knuckle has a lot lroe grease than front right did. Tomorrow ill start cleaning and reassembly.

Got the front left done today. Got the new wheel cylinder installed. Wheel cylinder was locked up tight. Cleaned up the rods with steel wool and put some brake clean when inserting into the rubber cups. Went back together nice. Finally the trucks been service with all new grease. Did put a brand new inner wheel bearing and race on front left. Entire truck used just shy of 35lbs of grease.

I did find out more on the front left brake line. The rubber line was completely dry. Thought that was odd. After removing it and looking inside the metal line, the metal line had an obstruction. There was a bunch of schmoo. Used a pick to clear the obstruction and got a bunch of debris out. It looked like mud. Tomorrow im installing the remote brake reservoir and will use a pressure bleeder to flush and see what comes out and replace the other brake lines.

Then the plan is to grease the rest of the truck, relocate the breathers and swap fluids in the drive train before a test drive. More photos tomorrow.

Installed the remote reservoir kit and went to bleed the system. No fluid came out front left metal line. Removed the front passenger side to see if it would bleed. Right side was dry. Decided to start chasing the brake line backwards.

In case anyone didnt know, you can't have front brakes if the brake line isn't connected! Im guessing when the truck was in the forestry department someone knew the front left was binding and instead of fixing the issue, they just plugged the front lines to the brakes. I decided to order another front wheel cylinder because when I get the system bled if that side hasn't had fluid in years im worried it will stick and ill have the same issue as the driverside.

One step backward but im glad I found the root cause so far. I blew that line out backward and cleaned out some schmoo you can see on the c-channel.

Ill remove that plug they installed and make sure we have fluid up to that point prior to flushing.

Well got some good news. There's brake fluid at that T fitting! Before I can hook up the front line again and flush I have to get the new front right wheel cylinder.

Removed from right wheel cylinder and look at the junk near the inlet! Took the rubber cups off and the plunger moves freely on both sides. Looks like it was replaced at one time. Ill clean it up and use as a spare. Waiting on the wheel cylinder to come in. Ill start working on greasing the truck next underneath.
