so what is the cable diameter of the original cable on a deuce w/w? ive read here its 5/8 and ive read its 1/2. so would like to know what it actually is.

This is no lie. I worked with a guy who has sadly passed a few years ago. Dan, "Mr Good Wrench", was an Army retiree and long time contractor here in Germany. That man had the TM*'s really, in his head. He would walk by one of his mechanics, and ask what was going on. They would tell him what they were doing. He would rattle off the TM number, page number to the work package and then rattle off the NSN of the needed part. The first few few times I heard him do that, I thought it was B.S. or maybe an inside joke. But no. not even. CUUV, Deuce, 5 ton, HUMMV, you name it. Dan was like a data bank.

Some people can do AMAZING things.....numbers, drawing, memory.....

Usually comes at a price, sometimes a very high price. Sometimes not...

Savant? Is that the term?
