M10009 Blower Motor Resister

My blower motor was working intermitly so I changed the dash switch, then the blower motor. Was working ok but now it shut off again. Could it be the resister and where is it located?

If you stand with your left hand on the blower moter, follow the wire that feeds the motor and you will end up at the resistor. Or, just extend your fingers and you will hit it.

Pull it out and look at it. You will see sets of curly cue wires going from one side to the other side of the resistor. If any of those wires are broken, the resistor is bad.

Check the plug on the blower switch for a burnt or loose conection. This was a common problem in these year model trucks. You can get the plug (pigtail) at a parts store.

If we are talking about the small metal can with black wiring that is between to motor and the orange wire I removed mine. The blower motor work fine.

I currently have my heater pulled and the above is the exact problem. The brown wires connection is burned and the fan will not work. Like Boomer says, common prob.
