I have decided to give up on my M35A2 dump truck project. Between age, health, monetary and time issues, getting it finished seems impossible at this point. So I’m going to let someone else have at it. I hate giving up on anything and I hate giving up on this. But I'm never going to be able to finish this, with all that's on my plate.

I ask that readers go through the entire ad / writeup - there is a mountain of parts that go with this deal.

Obviously, on a project like this, some things will be missing. I'm sure a lot of basic nuts and bolts are missing. Things like brackets or such may be missing. A project like this is well suited to the person who has a really basic truck (non winch, sprag, standard bed) or a rustbucket and wants to upgrade.

It’s a ’67 Kaiser-Jeep M35A2. I have a clear and correct Ga. title in my name. When I bought the truck, it was a perfectly fine truck, but my perfectionism got the best of me. The bed had some wear, the cab had some rust and a really poorly repaired corner section, the doors had some rust, etc. So I stripped it to the frame, sandblasted and painted the frame and started buying better components.

Here's what you’re getting:
Frame: Sandblasted to bare metal in 2013 and painted with Southern Polyurethane epoxy primer (the best) and Gillespie 383. I properly taped all of the driveshaft flanges to keep sand out. I hooked a battery to the pump and raised the dump bed subframe so I could get to all of the areas underneath. The dump conversion is well done, I’ve never damaged it and when you overload it (6 tons of gravel, it was not able to lift), it just grunts.

This is Southern Polyurethane's excellent epoxy primer. I use it on everything. It's excellent.

In action:

Bed: I bought a really nice M35A3 bed. It has cargo tie downs, marker lights, reverse lights, etc. It’s really straight and rust free. The military did mount something in the bed, maybe generators, so there are some brackets bolted to the floor. There is some pitting where water stood in it before I got it.

Troop seats and cargo cover (in the crate sitting on top of the frame in picture #14): Includes a good set of fiberglass troop seats which are also dropside applicable. Also includes a new 3-color camo cargo cover kit, with new bows, staves, corners and cover with all hardware.

Cab: I parted out a pretty nice 1985 USAF M35A2CV in order to get this cab. It’s in great shape. No rust-through anywhere, surface rust only. The cowl is in great shape, no one has ever stood on it and dented it, the rockers and cab corners are solid. The floor is in great shape. I have the removable floor pans that go with it. I have the dash from the 1985 truck and my ’67. Both go with it.

20251227_141154.jpg

This is all surface rust and is solid when you poke it with a screwdriver. After sandblasting, this will be ready for paint.

20251227_141224.jpg
Both cab corners look like this.

20251227_141158.jpg
None of the bolts or captured nuts broke off when I removed the fenders. This area typically rusts out on these cabs.

Doors: Project comes with two NOS doors, both complete with NOS glass, NOS regulators, weatherstripping and latches.

20251227_160507.jpg

Hardtop: The hardtop has a great lower section, with no rust. The upper part (the actual top) is wavy, likely from people standing on it in the service.
20251227_141243.jpg

20251227_141247.jpg

Windshield: Includes a good frame with two windshields that have about a year of use, after being NOS. Project comes with two aluminum wipers. These are the good wiper motors, not the crappy plastic ones that never work. My other deuce has aluminum ones and they’ve worked for 15 years.

Hood: Good used hood from the ‘67. Good other than the typical stress cracks at the front corners. I just weld these up and grind them down.
20251227_160813.jpg

Fenders: One NOS passenger side fender (was NOS, has been outdoors, so it’s probably just a used unit now. But straight, no rust, never installed, etc

Includes two drivers side. One has a perfect rear lip but the inner fender is a little warped and one has a perfect inner fender and the rear lip has been bent and repaired
20251227_160618.jpg

20251227_160704.jpg

Front bumper: Good straight bumper
20251227_160809.jpg

Winch: truck has a complete winch kit, including an extra pair of clevis, so you can add a second pair of d-rings underneath he bumper like an A3 model. Winch has 200’ of usable rope, with surface rust. Hook included. Winch has the typical broken shift shaft and needs to be rebuilt. I will include a new shift shaft in the deal.
20251227_160722.jpg

20251227_160601.jpg

Engine: Project includes two good running multifuels. The 1D that came in my dump truck when I bought it (1987 or 1988, so obviously not original) and another late eighties 1D that came out of the parts truck I got the winch from. Both engines run good (I have video of one of them). Includes good used alternator and radiator.

20251227_160446.jpg
Sale includes lower multifuel storage can (sorry, I looked for a lid for years and never found one). Engine #1. I did head gaskets on this engine in 2008 and it has about 2,500 miles since then. TD block, D-style head gaskets.

img_3626_542.jpg

20251227_160549.jpg
Engine #2 (as seen in video above).

Transmission: Includes good 3053 overdrive, with winch PTO installed and a good used spare 3053 as well

Transfer case: NOS air shift T136-27, installed on NOS mounts (bushings).

20251227_160831.jpg
Already drank the gatorade, sorry.

Front engine crossmember (correct A1 crossmember like what’s in the truck-the one on the truck is bent from loading it at the paint shop with a skid steer)
20251227_160809.jpg

All driveshafts

A Complete heater kit and a lot of spare parts, almost enough to build two heater kits

West coast mirrors (no heads)

Air cleaner housing

Fuel tank w/ mounting brackets

A complete set of 6 NOS multifuel piston and liner sets. These are cylinders, pistons and all rings needed to rebuild a multifuel

Conclusion:

I wanna' go over what's included here, for your $6,500:
Good frame with properly built and functioning Deuce dump conversion, running on a 24V pump. This means you get a good dump conversion, 3 good axles and a bobber kit, just with the frame.

(X2) Two good running multifuels. Complete with injection pumps. Video above of one of them running w/ 60+ psi oil pressure

(X2) Two good 3053A overdrive 5 speeds

(X1) NOS transfer case with NOS bushings and mounts. Includes NOS parking brake shoes

(X1) NOS dual circuit brake conversion (master cylinder bracket and dual chamber air tank)

(X6) NOS Multifuel cylinder assemblies

(X6) NOS Multifuel injectors

(X1) NOS j-pipe

(X2) NOS doors, complete with glass, weatherstripping, etc.

(X2) spring ride seat bases

(X2) NOS spring ride cushion / seat assemblies

(X1) NOS complete 3 color camo cargo cover assembly, with bows, corners, staves, cover and hardware

(X1) NOS steering box / column assembly

Complete set of fiberglass troop seats

Late model style (5-ton) front d-rings

Extra front bumper clevis to mount d-rings under the front bumper like an A3

Good rust free cab

Good rust free hardtop

Good rust free hood

Good rust free fenders (X2 driver side)

Good M35A3 bed with cargo tie downs, reverse lights, marker lights, etc.

Complete winch kit

Whistler turbo

Good plastic battery box

(X2) aluminum wiper motors

If you add those items up, you get a number far in excess of $6,500.

Also:
I have an NOS rear wiring harness for the truck and the original front harness which needs some repairs.

I have a skid steer and another running deuce, so when you show up with a big trailer to pick all of this up, I can help you load it. No, you can't towbar this. Too much stuff.

20251227_170827.jpg

Price and trades:
I am pretty firm on the price. I know this is an insane project for someone to take on, but I also have a fair idea of what this stuff is worth individually. I really need the money more than anything else, but I would be open to considering:

  • A 2-post lift with extended height, similar to this. I have a Land Rover w/ a roof rack, so a regular 12' lift can't pick it up far enough for any of us to get under it without ducking. I would consider a lightly used lift, but it would have to be nice. My shop has 14' walls and scissor trusses so I have almost 18' of height at the peak and 14' at the eave.

  • I have my Father's '68 Chevelle and hope to start working on it soon. I think I want to do an LS conversion, so an interesting LS engine might be a feasible swap. I am either going to do a Tremec TKX or T56 swap to it. A complete kit from a reputable vendor might fit the bill.

  • I have a '65 Mustang fastback, so a roller 331 or 347 crate engine might be appealing.

  • I just built a 30x40 shop in Athens, Ga. and a new mini-split would be nice to keep my aging bones from cracking in the cold or melting in the summer. Obviously this would have to be inspected by the county, so permits, new equipment, etc.
