Hoping to get some help from the group. I am selling one of my M998's and the individual purchasing it is shipping it over to Italy. The Italian government is asking for a technical data sheet to import the vehicle. Can someone help me with this? Not sure what is is. I have the Technical Manual and the data plate. Thanks in advance
European vehicles have a Certificate of Conformity from the manufacturer that certifies a vehicle conforms with all relevant EU regulations. Non-European vehicles will need something comparable from the brand representative that the local authorities can then use to assess the vehicle’s compliance with EU standards. The Technical sheet is VIN specific, and covers the basic info (dimensions, weight, engine, fuel, power, etc.) as well as safety, emissions, etc.
Since the technical sheet needs to be created or validated by the brand representative (or an authorized party) for your vehicle, it's going to have to come from AMG. I'm sure you're not the first person to do this, so they should have a contact for this. My company deals with similar EU-type approvals for mechanical equipment on fairly regular basis.
