Howdy y'all,

Typing this on my phone so might be a little strange formatting.
I recently purchased a mep-1040 6hrs on it when I got it, now 12 something-ish hrs after if performed flawlessly in its 100% load test. And I plan on running aux fuel to it.
My previous 803a it seemed there was just an inlet and it started to fill the day tank at a certain level and stop when it got to a certain level. I never ended up hooking this up, but it seemed straight forward.
The 1040 TM -10 seems to echo this in one section, then in another talks about an additional return line, almost like its running directly off the aux tank not monitoring and adding to the day tank. Anyone with some real world knowledge on this?

On these you have 2 fittings. One lets you run from an AUX fuel source just like the previous version. The other fitting lets you use the fuel in that machine AS the AUX source for another unit OR you can use it to mostly empty the tank for maintenance. There is no need to recirculate fuel between the onboard day tank and the AUX tank. It should be a one way trip.

I've rigged mine in a daisy chain setup where the first generator draws fuel from an AUX source and the next one draws its AUX fuel from the first machine. With that scenario, I only have to add fuel to the single AUX tank. It takes a few minutes to setup the hoses but saves time in an extended outage running multiple machines.
