Greetings all. I joined the group not because I own a military vehicle, but because I want to use the collective knowledge here to help me build a model of the Deuce I drove in the day. Back when the USSR were the bad guys, I was stationed in the Federal Republic of Germany, and there was no internet. So far it has helped quite a bit with verification of my memory, and jogging a few brain cells.

Wow! Neat... Well, I guess you need to ask for pictures? There are tons of pictures here on the forum - but no real way to search for them. Yeah, ask for what you want - and we will see what the guys can come up with.

Welcome to the Outfit!

Welcome aboard!

What kind of model?

Cheers
The beginnings is an AFV Club 1/35 scale M35A2. I think the biggest challenge will be the exhaust, as everything I could find available has the upright exhaust, but my truck was an older Studebaker that had been upgraded, but it still had the horizontal exhaust. So there will be some custom work involved, but I am hoping to get to look like what I drove when finished with it.

That's a good kit.
It shouldn't be too hard to convert to low headlights. Mirror brackets will be a bit fiddly to make, but doable.
I'll have to look in one of my boxes to see if that kit comes with the old style turn signals. If not, I know they are in my M54 kit; I'm going to use the newer large style on mine, so I can send you the smaller ones.

PS - I checked, it does not have the old style turn signals. Let me know if you want the ones I have. Freebies.

Cheers

Thank you so much for the offer! I will take you up on it. I didn't even notice the turn signals. The mirrors will be an interesting challenge. It had the small mirrors on it when I got there, but I was able to get my hands on some 5 ton truck mirrors after my first sojourn into a field exercise. I thought I could try to fabricate the mounts out of some out styrene rod, and I have some of the actual mirrors from another kit.
