New Tires for my 37

I just put a set of 38x10.50x16 directional tires on my XM708 and except for tread depth am fairly content with them. I'm moving my 37 from my hanger over to the construction shop where the 708 is, and want to put a taller set of directional tires on the 37. Geronee (a Chinese company) has just come out with a 40x13.50-16 deep tread directional that intrigues me. The 37 runs a big block Chevy with about 375hp and a KS-22 No Spin rear differential, so power for the bigger tires should be adequate (I wish they were a bit narrower).
What do you guys think about the pros and cons?Screenshot_20260104-221713_Samsung Internet.jpgScreenshot_20260104-221825_Samsung Internet.jpg

They look just like Treps from the side, Trepadors are an amazing tire for off road, they are made in Taiwan, no idea if they are related, ive never seen these before .

I suspect that these comments are already obvious to you but I thought I'd mention them anyway:

Do some checking to see if the large diameter will limit your steering range by rubbing somewhere.

Compared to the OEM tire diameter, the larger tire diameter will place greater stress on the axle shafts and differential components, since it would require greater torque to be delivered to the axle shafts and differential components to produce the same amount of acceleration or forward or backward pushing or pulling force.

As to the tire aesthetics, they certainly would produce an aggressive appearance.

Definitely very noisy, if that's OK with you.

I don't know how they would affect handling. They would raise your center of gravity, but on the other hand, the greater track width might make up for it to some degree.

What rim width do they require?

What kind of challenging off-road surface conditions do you expect to encounter most often, or which you are most concerned about?

"Do some checking to see if the large diameter will limit your steering range by rubbing somewhere"

Other people have mounted larger tires without issue.

"Compared to the OEM tire diameter, the larger tire diameter will place greater stress on the axle shafts and differential components, since it would require greater torque to be delivered to the axle shafts and differential components to produce the same amount of acceleration or forward or backward pushing or pulling force".

Yup. I installed an engine with near 400 hp fifty years ago, so am cognizant of the issues associated with increased torque. I address it by paying attention to the accelerator pedal.

"As to the tire aesthetics, they certainly would produce an aggressive appearance".

Near as I can tell, I have zero interest in appearance. I do have an interest in their ability to shed mud.

"Definitely very noisy, if that's OK with you"

I'm quite deaf. Noise doesn't bother me.

"I don't know how they would affect handling. They would raise your center of gravity, but on the other hand, the greater track width might make up for it to some degree".

True, but you get used to handling difference pretty quickly.

"What rim width do they require?"

Wider than I would be using initially.

"What kind of challenging off-road surface conditions do you expect to encounter most often, or which you are most concerned about?"

Just mud and deep water, neither of which concern me.

I didn't mean "concern" as in "bother you," but just which type of surface you were concerned most with for the purpose of selecting the tire tread.

I wouldn't count on them being that noisy as they have an open tread and won't capture and compress air .

Love to see some meow and after pics of that BB powered truck ...
