So I was busy blasting the ROPS cab on the M4K forklift today, and, after refilling the blast pot with sand, I forgot to put my leather gloves back on. You can see what happened. The danger here is an embolism, where a particle of sand can enter the bloodstream and plug up something important like your brain. Apparently that didn’t happen thank God. Be careful when blasting!!

Sandblasting, pressure washing and such things can kill you. All too often people underestimate what can happen. I once saw someone try and clean his shoes off, with a pressure washer. It cut through his cheap she and sock in a heart beat. Took the flesh off his two smallest toes. There was a Dust Off in Bamberg, not 400 meters away, and they carried this fool off to Nürnberg to the Army hospital. No embolism. But he had to get used to walking with 2 less toes.

when i was about 14 or 15 a hired hand of one of the farmers down the road had a hydraulic hose mishap which injected oil into his arm and it subsequently killed him .. It was my educational wakeup as just a month prior my father bought our first piece of (used) equipment that had a hydraulic hose , and a deteriorated one at that
