Just changed the fluid in the PS system. Probably air in system. Wheel is stiff as a board. What is the best way to address this on this PS system?

Cycle the steering back and forth to work any bubbles out of the steering gearbox. It is an open center system so the pump is always moving fluid thru the pump reservoir and box but you need to fully cycle the box to get any air out of that part. Check the reservoir as you do this as any displaced air will be replaced by fluid from the reservoir…

yea the only place air can collect is in the steering box and then only if the pump was sucking air while the steering was being operated.

Never had to "prime" one. They are gravity fed with the reservoir higher than the pump. 🤷‍♂️
Turns out the splines on the pump are too big and do not mesh with the pump splines. Therefore, the shaft on pump does get turned.

I matched up the number on the air compressor when I bought it. Puzzled. Anyone run into this?

Yes, there is an adapter between the tail of the air compressor and the splines on the input of the power steering pump. Could be it’s wrong?
