my plastic fasteners have mostly all broken cargo cover strap fastener hook
what is this?
are they made in metal?

They are commonly referred to as Ancra buckles. When they were originally made, they had a metal spring tab, which lasted a looooooong time. The current production uses that little plastic injection molded one piece tab.
I found a truck cover company that will make them in metal, at $25 each, minimum order in the hundreds... I didn't place an order.
Hummer Parts Guy sells the current production all-plastic ones for about the same price.
I have a small stash. They don't have straps on them, unlike HPG's. But if you're going to put them on existing straps it won't matter.
