I may look into using this the next time I need to replumb. I like the fact that its blue, makes it stand out as an upgrade to me, in the machine enclosure. Thanks for the info.

I have a CAT3126 that came with what looks like this material on the engine. I had wondered why blue until I found that material looking for FFKM for an '803. For what Caterpillar charges for the tubing it should be FFKM...

Silicones are highly permeable and will sweat if used for oil service. I don't know if fluorosilicone FVMQ is less permeable.

Thanks for catching that mistake of mine above.

This suggests FVMQ is almost as good as FKM, and a number tubing manufacturers list FVMQ as oil and diesel compatible.

Do you know of a source for FFKM tubing?

FKM, Viton, is sufficient for all fuels you'll burn in a diesel engine, including biodiesel.
FFKM, Kalrez, would cost $100's per inch and has poor performance at low temperatures.
