Lifter upgrade

has anyone attempted to upgrade the lifters? Im rebuilding my LDS soon with a new crankshaft and camshaft, Im interested in upgrading the lifters to reduce the posibility of wiping the cam.

Comp Cams has DLC faced lifters now for flat tappet applications. I doubt they have lifters for yours. Maybe you can get some original lifters coated and ground? If not DLC maybe hard chrome?
