I dunno, it might be easier for ya'll, but perhaps not as convenient for me.
The way it works on my computer is I get notification if you add a comment on an existing post you make. If you 'start a new thread' sometimes I won't even catch it if I don't find time to look through every new thread that gets started. Most often I don't have time to search through all 'new threads' so likely miss any important info you put out there.

The trucks you have are unique and I want to catch everything you do. Others may even be able to help you get to a finish line if they follow the info you're putting out,.......but that's only if we can find you.

It was real easy for this ol' boy to keep adding info to the build thread on my deuce and it helped others follow along. I don't want to miss a single moment of progress.

Did several piddly things today. Replacing the broken latch spring on the door mounted spare tire rack gave me a disproportionate sense of accomplishment. That sucker works now.

Yeah, the keyboard on this phone has a mind of its own.
Or maybe I just screwed up. In any event, I don't like the esthetics of the can.

Probably the auto-correct on the phone "helping you out". I find mine causes about as many errors as it corrects.

Unfortunately, the US military cans of that era sucked as far as actually holding fuel reliably.

Oh, I know. I had em running out my ears back in the 1960s.
Those were the days; I once bought 17 jeep engine, bellhousing, and transmission assemblies for $3.50 apiece. Bet I couldn't do that today.

I've forgotten - why does the right running board have a couple of inch gap between it and the front fender while the left runningboard doesn't?
Mine has the gap on both sides. Mine is a 1951. I wonder if this has something to do with M37 vs M37-B1 and the fact that the B1 had the spare mounted on the driver's door?

I dunno, could very likely be. Thanks for the input - I hadn't thought of that.
I can't remember if my 708 came with a driver's side tire rack, or if I added it from my parts pile (it has been over half a century, and I've blinked several times since then). This truck did start out as a B1.

Spent six hours on the hood today.
Good progress; I think I'll have it ready to reinstall next weekend.

Removed the steering wheel nut and took measurements to make a puller.

From memory, I think the spring loaded latches that hold the windshield down on the hood are shorter than the ones that hold the hood down. Anybody know where I can get a pair of the short ones? I could rebuild mine, but don't much want to.......

Edit - I found short latches.
