Hi folks, brand new to the forum and my first post. We just purchased a MEP806B Genset and after the shipper unloaded it we found out that the injection pump as well as the end cover was missing. Anyone on here know of a used one that may be available that I will not have to take out a second mortgage to purchase? The injector pump that I need is a Stanadyne DB4269-5278.

We also have a MEP 006A and have found some very good information on that model from the short time I have been on here.

Any help with the 806B will be very much appreciated.
Thanks,

Welcome to the Outfit!

I would suggest that you download the TM's (Technical Manuals) for your "new to you" MEP hardware.

There are several folks here that may have the parts you need.

You need to change your title. Something along the lines of, "MEP-806B missing the injector pump and cover".

I can count the people in this forum who know what a
Stanadyne DB4269-5278

Is, and what it goes on, on one hand, and still have 3 fingers left over.

Then I would take a snap shot of the IP and cover, from the -24P TM. Put that and the NSN's and Part's # in the post. That helps people, help you.

Inj Pump, PN: RE 505358 preferred or the older RE 67563 JD part numbers. You will also need an actuator, PN: ADC-100-24 or ADC 101-24 from Governors of America with the gasket which is rather thick and the 3 screws 2 short 1 long. When bleeding the pump the actuator is also bled thru the small screw on the top of the actuator. The timing gear cover can be made with the screws. Please take care to align the timing marks on the pump flange and the timing cover . This finishes the timing of the pump which is close to mid range of the pump movement and then snug down the mounting nuts. The pump shaft is keyed with the timing gear so just line those up and it slides in pretty good.

Thank you so much LuckyD. This is great information. I was concerned about timing the pump with number 1 but you made it sound like I can handle it.
I really appreciate it.

I believe these are available in the TM section along with a Booklet on the electrical things and how the gen works using them, and adjustments. In the CTM125 pamphlet page 40-8 actually shows the key way and the pamphlet shows about the fuel system. On the B model, there is the ADC100 actuator to control the speed of the engine. This is controlled by the magnetic pickup and ESD 5551. This one likes 1.6VAC mag pickup voltage at starter speeds to the ESD5551. The Electrical Booklet states how this all works. I'll keep an eye on the forum so if you have issues I can assist.
