Resurrecting this. Finally wrapping up where I can officially say the project is done, wired and transferred over the house to it without issue. Though there are still many other projects I am working on, battery maintainer, remote aux fuel, H/W heater load shed when the AC calls for cooling. But the main project is done.

Here is the original project, sat in my garage for a better part of a year, getting worked on here and there, wiring harness swap do to mice, some return lines, a fuel tank clean out, a little deoxit, some mouse armor, and I had her running good. Took it to the office in late January, where I could wire it up to some heaters and let it do its 6hr 100% test. Passed that, then coercied some of my coworkers bring it back and set it on the new pad with me.

Next steps were to order some cable and get it wired up... but wait, could it be my ADD, and impusivity has come a-knockin?

This 1040 popped up on facebook marketplace for 5k, couldnt say no, 6hrs on the thing. They had 2 of them, 6hr and 7hr brand new sets in their warehouse. Tried to get the other one too. Told them if they ever sell it, call me first. Took it to the office, made it do a 6hr 100% load test, which it passed.

So up onto facebook marketplace did the original projects go, sold them both for a healthy profit. It was kinda sad to see them go, but they went to a good home. He may be lurking on here somewhere.

Hell yeah!
How is the soft start working for you and the HVAC? Help when running on the generator? Been thinking about getting one for the two houses on the property & then sharing about them on the YouTube channel when it comes to generator use.

It works well, its the microair unit. It pretty neat, has a little app where you can track its learned starts and total starts with what its last amp draw was and stuff like that. It starts the condenser fan first then after about 3 seconds the compressor. Dead simple to install.

That is a single 5ton and you hear the slightest load up of for what feels like half of a half of a second from the 1040 then nothing. I swear the noise difference between the 1040 at no load, and fully loaded is much less obvious then my old 803.

I have been holding off on getting one but hearing from someone directly that has an MEP803A and MEP1040 with feedback has me sold. I know all about soft starts & VFD's, but having one so small almost seemed like a gimic. I may just order one right now as I had the page bookmarked!
