I'm looking for a complete and serviceable (M-1950?) Yukon stove, with the stove pipe and fuel adapter and burner for the 5 gallon jerry can. Surface rust is ok, and not too worried about the rubber hose as long as the fixtures are ok, I can replace the hose. Preferably in Ohio so I could just...
It's not even like there's that many MV's out there. A lot of times when you drive one, people look at it like it's a UFO... Not to mention there are already EXISTING laws that require that vehicles be in a safe mechanical condition, and that they are safely driven, no matter what kind of...
It's not museum quality, but it will look damn good in a parade. A few minor dings and dents, but no significant rust. Once I get the undercarriage cleaned up, I'll be much happier.
Just got mine back from being pained. It's cold and rainy so the Fire Chief let me use a bay to put on the stencils I got for it since I'm putting it in the Veteran's Day parade. I screwed up and put the big star for the hood on the passenger door, so I'm just going to order a new star and go...
Giga Tires is who I got my tires from. Made in Tailand, but since it's not a daily driver, I don't need top of the line tires. Coker in Memphis was 800+ for 8 ply, over a grand for 12 ply...
I bought some Deestone NDT's new online, they were just under $220 for 8 ply. They seem a tad taller and narrower than the Titan's that were on there, but those tires were pretty old and worn. Cost me about 3K with shipping for 8 of them. I had three really good ones that didn't need...
I don't think so, they're two different sizes, and not big enough for the pods. If I remember right, our pods had big rachet straps holding them in, they weren't bolted down. But I can't remember what the ratchet straps were hooked too. It looks like there were some kind of racks bolted to...
Does anyone have photos of M35's with commo and radio racks mounted in the cargo bed? Mine seems to have belonged to the 133 Signal Bn. ( C Co. I believe ) of the Ill. Nat'l Guard, and there are a bunch of holes in the bed on either side and the front of the bed floor. It seems to me that...
Yellow on a fuel can usually denotes diesel. JP-8 is jet fuel, and unless the cans were from a unit that operated in extreme cold conditions, I have no idea of why they'd put JP-8 in 5 gallon cans. That may have been necessary for operations in arctic conditions. Deuces could run on that, so...
Does anyone know if there was a standard undercoating on A2's? I'm getting ready to have mine repainted. I'm finding some tar like coating on the bottom of the cargo bed, and towards the tops of the metal mud guards, but I don't know if that was from the factory, field added, or done after it...
Update, I ended up getting 8 tires from Giga Tire online. They're 12 ply NDT's, made in Thailand, but it was 3K delivered, vs. about 8K+ from Coker, and that was pickup.
