    Brakes, Airpack not working?

1: there is a plumbing plug fitting on the pack, and a deuce pack requires lube inside that location.. 2: there's a bunch of talk about lubing the pack on this Site 3: as Will mentioned, sometimes a good hard stomp on the pedal (it's advised not to do while rolling) pops them free , but it's...

the only thing better than an A2 remotored with a mack is an original A1 , but i certainly would take an A2-to-A1 upgrade any day !! A unit I was with for the longest time had a number of A2's sporting the mack , including this one with M52A2 on the dash tag but you can clearly see what I am...

make yourself some safety braces and/or blocks to use whenever you're working under it raised ... A 5ft section of heavywall 2" steel pipe can do a good job as a support in the meantime .. Before lifting, one thing you should always check is the condition of the subframe around the rear hinge...

I can confirm this, SAE20 and SAE30 was the called-for motor oil used in hydraulic systems right up thru the 1950's in trucks, farm equip, industrial, and construction equip .. All my 1950's dumps, tractors, and dozers are still using it .. In the 1980's i drained the SAE30 out of my loader...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Here's a 5T up for municipal auction this week , it was apparently a M51 or M52 which they sat a 2-1/2T cargo bed upon .. Here's what that looks like, for anyone who wishes to know .. BTW, it's located in the northeast Which brings up another visual point from when I had a M49C tanker body...

    Guntruck build "The Savior"

IIRC, the gasser M54's in motor pools I had worked out of in the 1970's-80's had an exhaust pipe extension dumping out between the RH tandems.. (however, the M51, M52, M139, and M62 gassers I either own or were in the motor pools of my day had the exhaust pipe coming out between the RH front...

yep that tank was sure a mess ! .. Always had a coating of rust and crud inside, had to have a new filter every time it went to work. The dust control concoction the town carried in the big plastic tank that was on its back rotted everything it touched on that truck , was worse that they...
